Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez could have been one of the defining women’s tag teams in WWE history, if the true side of Jade wasn’t jealous of her former best friend. They held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships – but Perez would also go for the NXT Women’s Championship.
This was something Jade viewed as disrespect, and would cost Perez that match before throwing her half of the tag titles in the trash. Since then, they’ve been bitter rivals – with Jade getting the win at Heatwave. Tonight is the rematch, as they meet in a Weapons Wild match – a fitting stipulation for this bitter grudge match.
Roxanne Perez Came Armed For Combat
Perez would come to the ring with a trash can ready to go, arming herself with the skateboard that Jade cracked over the spine of Perez. She’d swing for the fences as the bell rang, with Jade fleeing the ring and throwing everything possible at Perez – with the skateboard swatting all away. Jade would be taken into the ring, and sat on the skateboard before Perez would wheel her face first out to the floor – and kept pressure on with the suicide dive.
Perez would grab a table, as Jade hid under the ring. She’d find a can of cold spray, before spraying the eyes of Perez and swinging her head first into the barricade. Back in the ring, Perez would recover as Jade flooded the ring with weapons. A pile of steel chairs would be set, before Jade put a trash can over the head of Perez and kicked it.
A double stomp would follow, before Perez was kicked from the ring – nearly landing head first. The trash can lid would be used, before Jade would use a broom. There was even a Bullrope at ringside, the influence of Dusty Rhodes living on in NXT – with it used to wrap the head of Perez for a camel clutch.
Cora Jade Finally Gets Her Comeuppance
Perez would be able to use the bullrope for some damage, only for Jade to shut her down briefly. Jade would find herself whipped into the ring steps – before Perez jumped off the steps in the Lou Thesz press. A trash can lid to the head would follow, as Jade was shoved back into the ring.
White Russian Leg Sweep would land in the ring, Perez using the signature kendo stick of Jade to do some damage. Perez would hit some rushing strikes in the corner before looking for Pop Rocks – only to be flung into the corner. Rushing knee strike would follow from Jade, getting a two count before she’d try to flee from a pissed off Perez.
They’d battle up to the elevated platform, where Jade would hit the scoop slam. She’d talk some trash, before Perez would throw forearm smashes – but was scared to have Jade fall off the platform – only to hit a Russian Leg Sweep down through a table. Back in the ring, Jade would be tossed onto the pile of chairs, before Pop Rocks on the pile for the win.
