Chris Brown has alleged that he was on course to perform a tribute for Michael Jackson at the American Music Awards before it was scrapped.
Chris Brown Angered After His Michael Jackson Tribute Was Canceled
The ceremony took place on Sunday, 20th November 2022. And as part of that process, Chris was ready to get in the groove to pay homage to Jackson.
In the video here, we can see him going through some very intensive rehearsals as he dances to Jackson’s iconic hits.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “U SERIOUS. WOULDVE been the ama performance but they cancelled me for reasons unknown.”
This naturally begs the question: why was it scrapped? Well, outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it could have been due to the following reasons.
First of all, Jackson’s reputation has been tarnished in the aftermath of his death. A 2019 HBO documentary featured accusations that Jackson may have molested children.
In addition, Chris has also been clouded by controversy in the past. He had allegedly beaten his ex-girlfriend Rihanna to the point where she ended up being taken to hospital.
And with so much controversy surrounding these two stars, there may have been a decision taken in order to prevent Brown performing.
The fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. A certain subset of people felt that this was the right decision in light of Brown’s prior behaviour.
Meanwhile, others were of the view that it should not have been canceled since there had been a significant amount of time since this controversy by Chris.
One person wrote: “GOOD. Why was it even ALMOST a thing,” while another person stated: “Cut that man some slack.
“That was years ago. And we all still listen to his music.” This is a setback for Chris, but if there is anyone who can bounce back, then it is him.
