In some criminally weird news, a Florida man was arrested by Escambia County deputies after his roommate walked in on him attempting to have sex with his dog.
Florida Man Arrested After Roommate Caught Him Trying to Have Sex with His Dog
On November 14, 2022, deputies arrived at a Pensacola residence about an “animal incident.” The roommate told them that the suspect, Edward George Dare (35) had purchased a husky-shepherd mix named Toby from Craigslist.
Prior to that on November 13, he walked in on Dare and Toby laying on the bed—then Dare tried to put the moves on the dog.
The roommate contacted animal control but the agency wasn’t able to respond. Instead, Toby was left in the care of a neighbor until authorities could respond. Dare went to the neighbor and asked for the dog back promising not to do it again.
Edward Dare late spoke to deputies and said that he felt remorse when his roommate entered the room and caught him, knowing he was in a bad situation. He also said that after the attempt, Toby was apparently uninterested, jumped off the bed, and left. Dare signed Toby over to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
He was charged with sexual contact with an animal and booked into the county jail on a $2,500 bond. Toby is now in the care of animal control.
