On November 17, 2022, a Florida man died after falling out of a tree while hanging up Christmas lights. The unfortunate accident occurred at the St. Mark Village retirement community in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Florida Man Dies After Falling Out of Tree While Hanging Christmas Lights
At 10:15 AM, 43-year-old Christopher William Straughn was hanging Christmas decorations and lights when he fell from one of the trees he was decorating. Pinellas County deputies responded to the scene. At the moment, there have been no findings as to how or what caused Straughn to fall to his death.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the investigation is ongoing and spokesperson Deputy Felisha Barnes had nothing else on the incident other than what occurred. St. Mark Village issued a statement that it would not be commenting on the incident.
Continued investigation isn’t unusual and doesn’t point to there being anything nefarious but the way Straughn died and what he was doing piques interest. Also, you can never be too certain with some incidents when you find out there was a disagreement or a previous history.
