Despite all things that surround his persona, Prince Andrew still thinks he has more to offer to the crown, as a working member of the royal family. However, King Charles doesn’t think so.
According to the Mail, King Charles didn’t hesitate to tell Prince Andrew that he doesn’t see him in the palace anymore, of course, as a working royal. As the outlet reports, the King didn’t choose his words to not offend, or to be soft on Prince Andrew. He told him directly what his plans are.
Prince Andrew Cried When King Charles Told Him He Will Never Return To Royal Duties
Prince Andrew on the other side did not accept this ‘as a man’ and started crying as King Charles stripped him of his royal duties permanently. Allegedly, the bearing of the bad news happened in a meeting held one on one between the brothers. People who had seen Prince Andrew rush away from the palace confirmed that he was all ‘teary’ and ‘emotional’. According to insiders from the Royal Lodge, the news pushed Prince Andrew into an emotional whirlwind, and they are concerned about the Duke’s well-being.
Prince Andrew had hopes that his brother might consider involving him in the royal work once again. Furthermore, he was sure that his brother King Charles is appreciating what he can offer to the crown. However, the answer he received surprised him and caught him completely off-guard.
Prince Andrew’s royal career ended up when he was associated with the pedophile and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But despite the fact that Prince Andrew himself got involved in several sex scandals, he thinks he can ‘still be of value’ to King Charles.
“Andrew was totally blindsided.” – an insider told the Mail. “He is utterly bereft. He always believed there was a way back.”
To confirm and reassure the public that there will be no coming back for Prince Andrew, King Charles decided to isolate him and not invite him to attend the Remembrance Day service at The Cenotaph. Since Prince Andrew doesn’t have his royal duties anymore, his presence there is not necessary.
“Andrew was extremely close to the Queen. He tried to raise the issue of his return to public life many times with her.” – the source told the Mail. “On some occasions, she would say mildly conciliatory things. But most of the time she would change the subject immediately to avoid talking about it. Naive as it may sound, he always had hopes of regaining his position as a senior Royal.” – the inside source continued. “At the meeting, Charles told him that he can go off and have a good life, a nice life. But that his public life as a Royal is at an end. King Charles told him, ‘You have to accept this.’”
The last blow to Prince Andrew’s hopes to regain his royal duties came with his civil lawsuit in the US. The lawsuit between Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre was about a sex offense that happened several times between the two. Allegedly, Giuffre was a ‘sex slave’ of the late Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Andrew, through his connections with Epstein, arranged sex with Virginia on several occasions. Several of the occasions were during the period when she was just 17 years old. The victim claimed that she forcefully entered into a sex act with the Prince, against her will.
As anyone would expect, Prince Andrew immediately denied the claims, but the Queen didn’t want to have any of it. That’s why she stripped him from his titles herself. She also stripped him from his right to be addressed as ‘His Royal Highness’.
Nevertheless, the Duke somehow managed to settle the civil case earlier this year. He allegedly paid the victim about $15 million to dismiss the case. He thought that this would open the doors to his previous status once more. But, he was wrong.
“Until the face-to-face meeting with his brother, Andrew believed that he has a way back. That somehow he could be rehabilitated and play a role in The Firm going forward.” – the Mail reports. “He came out of the meeting shaken. Prince Andrew is still in shock. He completely lost himself.”
However, this is not the only ‘blow in his face’ that Prince Andrew received in the recent period. His fragile persona crumbled in tears once more when King Charles informed him that he won’t wear a military uniform at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. In addition, he doesn’t have any say concerning royal decisions, while his relatives will have it.
King Charles decided to add his sister, Prince Anne, and his other brother, Prince Edward, to the list of counselors of the state. Furthermore, he decided that they can even stand in for the King if needed. But, not Prince Andrew. The Royal family erased him completely from all possible royal duties and official positions.
Prince Andrew’s family is also concerned about his well-being. Reportedly, his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie comfort him. They also tried to negotiate in his name and pursue King Charles to bring him back. The Princesses spoke with both Queen Consort Camilla and Prince William on the matter. However, they did not show the expected sympathy. They stand firmly behind King Charles’ decision.
It is obvious that Prince Andrew is refusing to accept the fact that there is no place for him in royal public life. Furthermore, he is struggling to accept the life he will live from now on. According to the Mail, Prince Andrew doesn’t have any ‘big’ plans for his future. He is isolating himself in his home as much as he can.
In addition to all this, Prince Andrew is grieving the Queen’s passing away. He was extremely close with his mother. Despite the fact she did not induct him back into royal life, he still loved her and had a close relationship with her.
