We’re just a few hours away from AEW Full Gear 2022. The main event of the final AEW PPV of 2022 will see Jon Moxley defend the AEW World Championship against MJF, a match which many view as a potential star-making moment for MJF. One name who is rooting for MJF backstage is Wardlow, because he would love to win the belt by powerbombing MJF once again.
Wardlow Would Love An Easy Path To The AEW World Championship
The story going into this match is MJF intends to win a match honestly for the first time in his AEW career, refusing to use underhanded tactics like the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Jon Moxley has claimed that if MJF doesn’t finally show guts in this match, he’ll simply pull them out himself. However, Wardlow is not convinced that MJF is being truthful. Wardlow had the following to say while sitting down with Barstool Sports.
“I think he’s gonna show his true colors. I, for three years, was hoping Max would kind of not be such a piece of sh*t and it seems like he’s starting to mature and come around, but I’m not buying it. I’m not buying it. I don’t think there’s any way humanly possible that he can beat Jon Moxley clean without cheating. I think it’s all BS.I murdered him to the point where he disappeared for like four months and then he comes back and is already getting a heavyweight title shot. I kind of am hoping he wins that title, though, because I would love to take it away from him.”
Back at Double or Nothing 2022, Wardlow won his singles match against MJF in a matter of minutes – earning himself freedom from MJF, who originally held the contract of Wardlow since 2019. Since then, Wardlow has won the TNT Championship – which he defends tonight in a Triple Threat match against Powerhouse Hobbs & ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe.
