Over the past year, we’ve seen Shotzi strive to prove she can hang with some of the best in WWE, and tonight’s her biggest chance to date. She would win a Six Pack Challenge on Smackdown Live, and earned a shot at Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey in the process. Rousey has been on a dominant streak since defeating Liv Morgan to regain her championship, and will truly put Shotzi to the test here tonight. Things would get personal when Rousey and her pal Shayna Baszler would go after and injure the friend of Shotzi, Raquel Rodriguez. The numbers are against Shotzi, the odds are against her – but that has never stopped her before.
Ronda Rousey Takes Shotzi’s Best Shot, Remains Champion
Shotzi would come in with some quick strikes to the head, being taken down twice but springing right back up. An enziguri would be blocked into an ankle lock, with Shotzi able to fight free. Rousey would be sent to the floor, but Shayna would shove Rousey out of the way to the dive.
Shotzi would be able to throw Rousey into the ring steps, before taking Shayna down again with a dropkick. Rousey would counter a crossbody into a judo style takedown, before hitting some stiff kicks to the ribs. Ankle lock would be applied again, but Shotzi would fight to get free with an enziguri.
Shotzi would have her arm wrapped around her neck as Rousey looked for a more effective submission, only for Shotzi to find her feet. Some swift strikes would follow, with Rousey choking Shotzi on the ropes. Rousey would let the choke go before taking a punch to the jaw.
This match would end up in the crowd, with Rousey & Shayna thrown amongst the fans before Shotzi would dive onto them and two fans with a crossbody. Back in the ring, Rousey would hit a top rope judo takedown – somehow only getting a two count off a limp Shotzi. Pipers Pit would be nailed, before the armbar would be applied – meaning Rousey remains as Smackdown Women’s Champion.
