It’s time for match number six in the Best of Seven Series between The Elite & Death Triangle – and things have gotten very violent. Last time around it was a No DQ match, with The Elite getting the victory. Now it’s time for a Falls Count Anywhere match – which all but ensures complete chaos. If The Elite lose, Death Triangle are named the winners of the series, with the record at 3-2 in favour of the current AEW World Trios Champions.
Match Seven has already been announced as Escalera De La Muerte set for January 11th, but Death Triangle can prevent that match from happening. Add in that Kenny Omega has to worry about walking into the Tokyo Dome on January 4th for New Japan Pro Wrestling for a match with Will Ospreay? The Elite might be looking to make this one a sudden victory.
From The Back Into The Ring, And Everywhere In Between
This match started in the back following an interview with Mogul Affiliates setting up Swerve Strickland vs. Wheeler Yuta on AEW Rampage, and the bell would be rung because well – this match doesn’t need the ring. PAC would throw Matt Jackson into some risers, as Penta El Zero Miedo would hit Omega in the face with a trash can. Omega would be hit with a brainbuster onto some palates, as Rey Fenix would take the fight to Nick Jackson.
Lucha Bros would hold The Young Bucks in place, as PAC would hit a moonsault off the risers. Matt would send Penta through a table with a back body drop, before Nick put PAC onto an equipment case and rolled him into a superkick from Matt. Nick would climb the risers, and jumped off onto Penta for a two count.
PAC would take some punches to the face, as Nick Jackson would pull him out to the stage. Penta would follow, with Fenix above the entrance tunnel, waiting to jump onto The Young Bucks… and his partners. Omega would come from the entrance tunnel with a V-Trigger, nearly taking Fenix’s head off.
PAC would nail a Deadlift German Suplex on the ramp, before taking the Locomotion Northern Lights Suplexes down the ramp from Matt, with Fenix getting caught into the final suplex. Fenix would be rolled into the ring with Penta following, as Young Bucks would look for some downward punches.
Matt was taken to the floor and set by the crowd before some chops. Nick & Penta brawled off into the crowd, where Penta used a fans crutch to choke Nick. PAC would choke Omega with his boot in the ring, before stomping him out. Penta would join PAC, with Fenix passing a Trash Can into the ring.
Kenny Omega Saves The Match
Death Triangle would be taken out one by one by Omega, with Nick rushing into the ring to help out. Matt would follow, hitting a 450 Splash on Fenix, as PAC was dropped with a Snap Dragon Suplex. Omega would hit the Doctor Bomb, crushing the trash can in the process. One Winged Angel was prevented by Penta pulling Omega to the floor for the Fear Factor – with Nick breaking the pinfall up.
Fenix would hit the cutter on Matt in the ring before hitting a dive to the floor taking down Omega and Micheal Nakazawa. Penta would look for the Fear Factor on the apron, but was taken down with a back body drop. Matt would set up the Meltzer Driver, with PAC able to break the pinfall up. In the ring, PAC would look for the Black Arrow, but instead took a chair to the face.
Penta would take the BTE Trigger, and again PAC would make the save. PAC would duck a superkick getting Matt to kick Nick before applying the Brutalizer. Elsewhere, Omega hit the One Winged Angel out of the crowd through a table on Fenix, getting the pinfall before Nick would tap out in the ring – meaning we get a match seven! It was a photo finish, and these teams have two weeks to prepare for Escalera De La Muerte.
