Cannibal Escapes Prison After Killing Two People As Austin Harrouff’s Insanity Plea Deal Accepted – ‘White, Rich Boy Justice,’ Says Victim’s Family

Cannibal Escapes Prison After Killing Two People As Austin Harrouff's Insanity Plea Deal Accepted - 'White, Rich Boy Justice,' Says Victim's Family

A cannibal man accused of killing a couple by chewing their faces has been found not guilty, leaving the relatives outraged.

Family Outraged As Cannibal Escapes Prison After Killing Two People As Insanity Plea Deal Is Accepted-‘White, Rich Boy Justice,’ Says Family

The defendant, Austin Harrouff, 25, was acquitted by reason of insanity. A judge accepted a plea bargain that said Austin was mentally unstable when he murdered John Stevens and his wife Michelle Mischon Stevens in 2016.

Police say Harrouff was caught in the garage of the victims’ home when he was just 16, as he attacked the two deceased with a machete.

Cindy Mischon, who happens to be Michelle’s sister, was incensed: “Here we are opening the prison doors for a double murderer. Four words come to mind. White, rich boy justice.”

Harrouff said that God and demons were communicating with him during the murder, but he can’t recall the details. Meanwhile, his parents allege that he was mentally ill.

The victims’ families were furious at this defence, saying that Harrouff was a drug addict. Only a small amount of marijuana and prescription drugs were found in Harrouff’s system in a subsequent toxicology report.

As such, further family members came out with the vocal remarks. Michelle’s other sister, Jodi Bruce, had this to say: “I didn’t really know you could brutally murder two people, attempt to kill another, and not even have a trial. That was news to me.”

The response on social media was one of outrage. A significant proportion of people could not understand why someone was declared insane when their behaviour had shown that they were capable of committing a gruesome murder.

One person wrote: “Couldn’t everyone who commits murder be called insane, technically? This scumbag got away with murder.”

This is clearly a very difficult time for the family, and this verdict has not made anything easier. That is why they will need the support of those around them to make sure that they stay in a good place.

So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
