In professional wrestling, everyone wants to go out on their own terms – but that isn’t always the case. It looked like this would be the case with Jamie Noble, who was forced into retirement in 2009 due to a build up of injuries over his career. However, later this month – Noble intends to lace his boots up at least one more time, and will be wrestling on the upcoming WWE live event on December 11 in his home state of West Virginia.
Jamie Noble Speaks Ahead Of His In-Ring Return
While sitting down with Byron Saxton, Jamie Noble would discuss how his body is feeling before his in-ring return. Noble had the following to say.
“Good. When I look at the dates and trying to get everything ready, I was worried about a training camp and how I would hold up, but it’s been great. It’s obviously rough getting used to going at it and some of these guys over here, Regal’s kid (Charlie Dempsey), Drew Gulak have come in. It’s been challenging, but I feel like I’m there and they got me ready. I plan on killing it.”
When asked what he hopes his legacy in WWE to be – Noble hopes to be more known as a mentor than a wrestler.
“I paid it forward. I tried to help everybody, I tried to be a good coach. Tried to be a mentor. Just try to teach and live through them. I love helping Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. I just want to be remembered as the guy who passed it along and helped everybody as much as I could.”
Over his career, Noble would win the ROH World Championship one time, and the WWE Cruiserweight Championship one time. It’s unclear if Noble will continue after this match if it goes well, with a chance of him showing up in the Royal Rumble in 2023 potentially in the works.
