A missing Florida teen was found with an Alabama man and the two were involved in a sexual relationship, according to the Florence PD. Authorities had been looking for the 15-year-old girl when their investigation led them to Belview Road in Florence, Alabama.
Missing Florida Teenager Found with Alabama Man Who Faces Charges for Statutory Rape
When police arrived at the location, they found the missing girl in the company of Hermelindo Hor Cucul (23). Authorities questioned the two and “determined that the two were in a sexual relationship.” Apparently, Cucul traveled to Florida and brought the teen across state lines for sexual intercourse.
The teen was returned home while Cucul was arrested and charged with statutory rape and traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex acts. Hermelindo Hor Cucul is currently jailed at the Launderdale County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
No date has been announced for Cucul’s court date. If Cucul attempts to challenge the charges in court, he could face a maximum of 20 years for the statutory rape charge. The traveling to meet a child charge carries a heavier maximum sentence of life and a mandatory minimum of 10 years.
