A young girl was viciously attacked by a rabid raccoon as she left her home to go to school in Connecticut.
Mother In Connecticut Saves Daughter After She Was Attacked By Rabid Raccoon
Footage of the vicious animal attacking Rylee MacNamara was captured as she left the house on Friday, 2nd December 2022. The child’s foot was bitten when she tried to kick the animal off her leg.
The girl’s mother, Kelsey, rushed outside to drive the raccoon away, and the girl continued to struggle as the raccoon clung to her leg.
With one arm Kelsey grabbed the raccoon, with the other she seized her terrified daughter and swung them both around. Then she bundled her daughter back into the house before turning her attention to the hostile intruder.
When Kelsey’s front door had been blocked by the raccoon, she cried for help. However, the creature held on tightly and wouldn’t let go. Finally, she seized the raccoon by the head and threw it across her lawn.
After standing still for a few seconds, the raccoon appeared to turn back towards the home in order to make another assault, but then suddenly turned away from the house and raced down the front avenue as a dog barked at it from a window.
Once the dust had settled down, this is what Kelsey had to say: “Per Rylee’s request ”show everyone what the racoon did. We are headed to get checked out for rabies following this unprovoked racoon attack.
“I can’t tell you how proud I am of this Brave girl!” As of now, there is nothing to suggest that there was any long-term damage done. After all, who knows what could have happened on any other given day, especially if the mother was not on hand to intervene.
And now that they have been through this experience, they are better prepared to deal with any rodents that may appear and take appropriate action in due course.
