While the York Regional Police are looking at all angles, they’re not committing to the theory surrounding his ongoing legal battle with the board. However, it was the authorities that revealed that three of those killed were on the board.
The police responded to an active shooter call in the city of Ontario at around 7:20 PM. When they arrived at the condominium, they found five dead victims in three apartments. When the York Regional Police confronted Villi in the hallway, he was shot and killed.
As always in cases where the suspect is killed along with that victims, there’s the question of “Why did this happen?” Chief Jim MacSween said that his department are investigating to determine Villi’s reasoning for turning to violence. On the battle with the board theory he said:
“Three victims were members of the condominium board but the motive for the shooting remains part of this very complicated and very fluid investigation which is still ongoing at this time.”
