Three Things to Look Forward to in WWE in 2023

After major changes in the front office for WWE in 2022, 2023 look like it is going to be a big year for the company. It will also give a clearer vision as to what Triple H wants WWE to look like in the future. Here are three things to get you excited about the company in 2023.

A Full Year Under Triple H

Even if it hasn’t changed by leaps and bounds, I think that most wrestling fans will say that under Triple H, the shows have been booked better and are more watchable than they were when creative was ran by Vince.

When a change like this happens, it is like when a new person becomes president. The first year or two that they are in office, they have to clean up any messes that the past president made.

Sometimes it isn’t as simple as just making the change. There are people who were getting pushed and storylines going on before Triple H became head of creative. Those storylines and pushes must keep going until it is finished.

People may have been harsh on Triple H lately because the quality of the shows (Raw particularly) hasn’t been all that great.

With a fresh year and the chance to finish off storylines that he didn’t want in the first place behind him, we can hope that things get better.

Splitting the World and Tag Team Titles

This is something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. This goes back to my first point. It is something that happened before Triple H took control and something that I think that he wouldn’t have done.

One of the biggest downfalls of WWE in 2022 was Monday Night Raw was the fact that they didn’t have a world championship or tag team championship on the brand.

Smackdown has been flourishing with those titles on the brand almost exclusively. I don’t think that there would be that much of a problem if Smackdown didn’t have the world or tag team titles on its show.

There have been a few episodes of Smackdown led by GUNTHER as Intercontinental Champion without the Usos or Roman Reigns on the show. They have been perfectly fine.

A show with three hours NEED those two titles to fill the time and make the show more interesting to the fans.

    More New Faces

In 2023, look for many new wrestlers to start appearing on the main brands. I don’t think that it will be a case where WWE just goes on a shopping spree and buys up all of the indie wrestlers on the indies.

I think that they will accomplish this by making NXT a bigger part of the main roster. We could see more wrestlers in NXT working random matches on Raw or Smackdown.

Don’t expect for these to be full call ups, but maybe sub five min matches to get wrestlers on the main roster over. It would be good for the NXT wrestlers because they get the rub and exposure from wrestling established stars.

The WWE wrestlers would benefit from it by having fresh matchups. One of the biggest complaints about when Vince ran the company was that the same matches happened over and over even though fans voiced that they did not like them.
