The NXT Champion gets very few days off, and time is starting to take it’s effect on the young Bron Breakker. He’s been consistently in the NXT Championship picture all 2022, with a short reign by Dolph Ziggler breaking things up. Countless matches are starting to wear on him – and now, he’s facing one of the best wrestlers in the company with Apollo Crews. Crews returned to NXT earlier this year, and took aim at the champion – and will finally get his chance to go for the gold. During his initial run in NXT, he never got a chance to go for the gold – but that changes here tonight.
Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better
When it comes to Breakker & Crews, they are equally matched physically – with Crews having a vast experience edge. The crowd was split 50/50 as they stared each other down, circling the ring before locking up. It was a stalemate in terms of power, neither man able to push the other man very far.
Crews would kick off a test of strength, using a Monkey Flip to take Breakker down briefly – only for Breakker to pull the same move. A hip toss would see Crews land on his feet, and we’d see the same from Breakker moments later. Crews would take Breakker down to the mat with a side headlock.
Breakker would break free before being taken back down to the mat. Crews would nail a dropkick before a standing moonsault for a two count. Breakker would roll to the floor, taking another moonsault. Back in the ring, Breakker would hit a delayed vertical suplex before the standing moonsault.

Breakker would take three powerbombs soon after, with Crews still unable to get the victory. Coming off the top rope with a Frog Splash got another near fall. Breakker would be able to run Crews down with some shoulder tackles before catching him with the spinebuster. Steiner Bulldog would follow, getting a two count.
The Military Press Powerslam would be blocked into a DDT, but Crews was unable to get the win. Another press slam was blocked before Crews hit Breakker with his own finisher. Breakker would be able to run Crews down with the spear, and got the victory in the process.
As Breakker was posing with the belt, Grayson Waller would attack from behind – and the show closed on Waller holding the belt. Will Grayson Waller be the one to finally take Breakker down? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
