NXT Deadline is in the books, and we have two #1 contenders after the first ever Iron Survivor Challenge matches. Roxanne Perez would win the women’s match to start the show, and Grayson Waller won the men’s match later in the night. They will get their title shots at New Years Evil – and the path to those matches come here tonight.
Roxanne Perez Doesn’t Want To Wait For New Years Evil, Bron Breakker Runs Off Grayson Waller
Perez would open the show, ready to cut a promo only to be interrupted by Grayson Waller in a Hummer. He’d claim this was his time to shine, and would ramble on before being told to shut up by Perez. Perez would remind Waller that she not only did it first, and from the #1 position, making it the biggest win of her career.
Waller claimed she started at #1 because she had to rush home for bedtime. The only thing she was right about is that it was the biggest wins of their careers… and implying she peaked at 21, because she won’t defeat Mandy Rose. Bron Breakker would come to her defence, and joined her in trying to shut Waller up.
Waller claimed he will be able to easily outsmart Breakker at New Years Evil, before claiming that the NXT Championship is all about making moments. Breakker said they can make a moment tonight – and would chase him off through the crowd, before Rose attacked Perez from behind with the NXT Women’s Championship.
Perez would not stay down, and said she doesn’t intend to wait for New Years Evil – wanting her title shot tonight. Rose would give Perez her wish, and looks like we have a main event.
Wes Lee Proves He’s Always Ready For A Fight
NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has a few enemies right now, and on his way to the ring for a match with Stacks – was ambushed in the back. They’d brawl to the ring, with Lee able to drive Stacks face into the steel steps. Into the ring, Lee would be hit with a neckbreaker for a two count.
Lee would be able to take Stacks off his feet with a headscissor takedown, before nailing the dropkick. Stacks rolled to the floor, and Lee kept the pressure on with a dive over the top rope. Back in the ring, Lee would apply a side headlock – only to be shoved out to the floor.
Stacks would hit some stiff strikes by the barricade, before a double underhook suplex in the ring. Rear chinlock would be applied, before a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker for a near fall. Stacks applied a tight single leg Boston Crab, with Lee able to roll to his back and kick his way to freedom – only to walk into another backbreaker.
Lee would refuse to stay down, trading strikes with Stacks in the middle of the ring – able to use his quick kicks to gain the advantage. Running front kick into the corner was followed by a German Suplex and a back handspring kick for the victory. After the bell, the music of Dijak would hit.
With Dijak approaching the ring and Tony D’Angelo behind him, Lee had nowhere to run. Lee would be laid out by Tony D’Angelo with a Full Nelson Slam – was Dijak would simply stare Lee down.
