Even on a shorter episode of AEW Dark Elevation, there is space for a lot of good and bad. Earlier, I talked about the good and now, these are the not so good parts of the show. Here are the weekly bad parts of AEW Dark Elevation.
The Bad from AEW Dark Elevation
Ok, ok, ok, time out. Every week, I love whatever Athena does. Her character is great and she is a natural fit at being a sneaky but tough heel.
I thought that the backstage segment that she had with Riho was not good at all. I had a very bland feel to it. I would’ve preferred maybe a regular interview and a challenge if this was going to be the outcome.
I know that there might be a language barrier, but that isn’t an excuse to have a flat “fighting” segment like this one. They could’ve left it off and saved a few mins on the already short show.
In the good parts of the show, I put the addition to the announce team. The more the show went on I saw an issue, but I think that it will work its self out with time.
The issue is that I think that Paul Wright and Daddy Magic has worked together for so long that there were times that they basically phased Ian out. Either they are going to have to allow him to talk more or he is going to have to take control of the both by force.
Next up, I know that she is a fan favorite, but Emi Sakura is not entertaining at all to me. While I have never saw a bad match from her, I haven’t seen an entertaining match from her either.
Every week I give her a chance but I am never impressed by what I see. I don’t think that she should change up her act, because it is clearly working. I just don’t like the act, it is a personal problem.
Lastly, the weekly combination of the Dark Order against some combination of the enhancement talent that they beat every week is getting old. I think that the same thing could be achieved by having singles matches with John Silver against any of these guys because he is the entertainment in the group.
While I do like seeing his hot tags, the act as a whole isn’t very entertaining to me. I don’t know what they have going on or what their goal is.
