On that day, a vehicle crash occurred on Sylacauga’s West 4th Street. When authorities and emergency services arrived on the scene, Jude was suffering extensive injuries that required immediate treatment. However, he was able to tell officers that Grantham attacked him while he was sleeping. Grantham would steal Jude’s car and phone.
Jude would try to make it to the ER but his injuries resulted in him hurting himself further. He would die of his injuries after being moved from Coosa Valley Medical to UAB Hospital. Christopher Grantham was captured shortly afterward while driving Jude’s car in Lynn Haven, Florida.
He was extradited back to Alabama on December 7, 2022 and will be scheduled for a court appearance at a later time.
