It has been uncovered that JK Rowling was given a mind-boggling £18 million from her book publishing company in one year.
JK Rowling Receives £18 Million Payout Despite Mass Criticism From Activists Branding Her Transphobic
The renowned Harry Potter creator got the tremendous sum in 2022. The 57-year-old has become the objective of a blacklist by trans activists in view of his perspectives on women’s rights.
Despite this, the pre-tax profit of Pottermore, Rowling’s digital publishing company, amounted to £5.7 million with revenues of £37.8 million in the span of one year up until March 2022.
Last month, the author commented that instead of being cancelled by her adversaries, her book sales actually increased when they criticized her.
In her comments at the time, Rowling remarked: “The only time I’ve ever made reference to being cancelled, my book sales went up.
“Why am I even laughing? I can’t believe I’m saying these words. But you have to mock them. I do not consider myself cancelled.”
Back in 2018, the public began to heavily criticize the writer’s opinions when Rowling “liked” a post that addressed trans women as “men in dresses”.
Since then, she has been bombarded with mistreatments from activists who allege she is anti-trans. In addition, Rowling recently voiced her opinion against the Gender Recognition Reform Bill which was ratified by the Scottish Parliament in the past month.
The bill enables Scots to determine their own legal gender without needing any medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria when applying for a gender recognition certificate. The fans on social media praised Rowling by making it clear that she deserved the fruits of her labour.
As a result, people began to make some very positive comments. One person wrote: “Fabulous. She deserves every penny. Of course the fact that the TRA lunatics will be absolutely LIVID is a bonus.”
