The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting a probe concerning Doja Cat, who has supposedly been the recipient of a death threat.
Police Intervenes After Doja Cat Receives A Death Threat From A Fan
According to TMZ, the 27-year-old singer was the target of a hostile admirer after he was asked to leave a closed chat room. The person who was ejected later came back and threatened to murder the performer, further asserting he would ‘see her soon.’
Doja phoned the police and initiated a complaint, which led to an official inquiry. The source mentioned that the anonymous male admirer was not living in the same state as Doja, who is based in California.
Earlier in the year, Doja faced criticism from her fans in Paraguay after deciding to cancel a show due to hazardous weather conditions.
In March, she declared on Twitter that she was intending to stop making music, changing her handle for the platform to ‘i quit’ and posting about it. In her comments, at the time Doja remarked: “This s*** ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
A few days after her initial social media post, she came back on the platform to apologise and reevaluate her position, acknowledging her luck and accomplishments.
But this just goes on to show how much Doja has been through in recent times. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
Large numbers of people came out to demand that the person responsible be held to account. And in the process of doing so, they hoped that Doja would be able to overcome this difficult period.
One person wrote: “Another chat room??? I hope she’s safe but damn,” while another person stated: “Y’all talking about the chatrooms but not her getting a death threat? At least try to look like you have an ounce of sympathy for her.”
