Saraya Would Love To Face Sasha Banks In AEW – But Has No Idea If She’s Coming
While appearing on DJ Whoo Kid’s Shade45 show, Saraya would have the following to say about what she knows about the AEW status of Moné.
“I don’t know. I wish I knew that. Even Meech, my manager, is constantly asking, and I’m like, ‘I have no idea’ I asked Tony Khan like, ‘what’s the deal?’ I would love to face her in AEW because I’m there. Tony has a good relationship with New Japan and he loves New Japan. Sasha, I texted her the other day just to be like, ‘congratulations.’ She said that she was happy. I’m not starting any rumours with her,”
There were heavy rumours of Moné being the tag team partner of Saraya for her match on the January 11th episode of AEW Dynamite, but Saraya would instead name former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm as her partner. There’s still a chance that it ends up simply being a red herring to make fans not expect Moné – as until the bell rings on that match, the situation remains up in the air.
Mercedes Moné Helped Sell Out Battle In The Valley
One place we do know to expect to see Mercedes Moné is at NJPW Battle In The Valley next month. The news of her in-ring debut would lead to the event being sold out, with no other matches announced for the event yet. She will be facing off with the IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI, who she previously worked with on the WWE roster.
It’s expected that the in-ring appearances of Moné will be limited over the next year, with a high asking price attached. However, with the AEW women’s division still trying to hit that next level combined with the drawing power of someone like Moné? It could be a worthwhile investment.
Will Mercedes Moné make her AEW debut tomorrow night on Dynamite? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
