In Florence County, California, authorities arrested a Trinidadian man for trafficking cocaine on December 19, 2022. Sheldon Junior Alexander (34) resided in Los Angeles illegally while engaging in trafficking and has been hit with drug charges related to his resident status.

Authorities were able to arrest Alexander after pulling him over for speeding northbound on Interstate 95. After searching his vehicle, deputies seized 118 pounds—or 54 kilos—of cocaine. They also found $182,000 in cash and a firearm.
The cocaine had an estimated street value of $9 million. Sheldon Junior Alexander was charged with trafficking cocaine, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Prior to his arrest, he was out on bond for a murder charge In Los Angeles. That part makes this case interesting since it just seems like he was speed-running deportation. First, he’s in the country illegally, then he ends up with a murder charge while dealing cocaine.
As you may have guessed, Alexander remains behind bars.
