Right now, Bryan Danielson is just a few weeks away from perhaps his biggest match to date in All Elite Wrestling. He is going to be in the main event of AEW Revolution as he meets AEW World Champion MJF in a 60 minute Iron Man match. This is Danielson’s fourth attempt at winning the AEW World Championship, and his first time on PPV. Danielson has only been getting better with age – and one thing that has long been on his professional wrestling bucket list is wrestling in the G1 Climax for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Even Tony Khan agrees that would be great for AEW & NJPW alike.
Bryan Danielson In The G1 Climax Would Be Great – But A Major Loss For AEW
While appearing on the In The Kliq podcast, Khan would be asked about Bryan Danielson being involved in the biggest professional wrestling tournament of the year – the NJPW G1 Climax. Khan thinks this would be an incredible move – though Danielson is a big name to lose for a month of TV.
“To be honest. I think it would be great in many ways, but Bryan Danielson, it’s quite possible, could be AEW World Champion. Either way, I mean, I think it’d be hard for him to disappear from the show, especially as the AEW World Champion. I’m not sure he’ll be able to get away from the show that much. We’ll have to see what happens here coming out of Revolution with MJF vs. Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship in the 60-Minute Iron Man Match in San Francisco on March 5,”
In 2022, Lance Archer represented AEW in the G1 Climax, while Wheeler Yuta represented AEW in the Best of The Super Juniors tournament. The field for the G1 Climax will not be revealed until Dominion later this year – while the field of Best of the Super Juniors should be announced soon. Danielson missed out on AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in 2022, due to being out with a concussion.
