Ex-russian politician Ilya Ponomarev told that Vladimir Putin will be dead in a matter of months. The reason behind this would be his inability to successfully finish the invasion of Ukraine. Ilya Ponomarev is the only member of the Russian parliament that voted against the annexation of Crimea in 2014. He is a known opponent of Vladimir Putin’s politics.
According to the former parliament member, his own ‘comrades’ would kill Vladimir Putin by the end of the year. The reason behind this would be the fear of potential war crimes trial.
Ex-Russian Politician Claims Vladimir Putin Will Be Dead In A Matter Of Months
While the Russian army is advancing, Ilya Ponomarev moves to Ukraine where he starts a movement with the main goal to raise awareness in the Russian population and help transform Russia into a modern-day democracy.
“Putin’s power resides in his position as an alpha male, as the person who is invincible.” – Ilya Ponomarev said of Vladimir Putin. “2022 was the year when this position started to wane. My forecast still remains that he will not see his next birthday. My personal dream obviously is to see him in The Hague but I don’t think that he will make it. Those around him will not allow him to go to the Hague, because his testimony may actually be very harmful for them. They will kill him.”
Ever since the start of the war in Ukraine, the world accused Russia of systematic war crimes. The US ambassador Beth Van Schaack is one of the loudest among the accusers. She claims that the Russian deeds in Ukraine will not go unnoticed. Uncalled-for civilian attacks, rape, and abduction of children on Ukraine’s territory are just some of the crimes Russia is accused of. People are working on documenting all of these crimes and presenting them to the Criminal court in Hague. After this, the court will summon the charges and judge them fairly.’
The International Criminal Court in the Hague receives numerous calls to act against Vladimir Putin and use all the available evidence against him. However, the ICC didn’t take any action against Vladimir Putin until now.
The Hague prosecutor Karim Khan is currently on the ground in Ukraine. He is collecting evidence to ensure there is enough proof for the war crimes.
Meanwhile, people are hoping for Vladimir Putin’s resignation at the earliest convenience. However, as it looks like, this will remain only a dream. It is highly unlikely that the long-time leader would step down from his ‘throne’ soon.
Whether Vladimir Putin will be dead in the following year cannot be told with certainty. However, we hope that the voice of reason will overpower the hatred and the war will end soon.
