Pink declared that Madonna, who had been her inspiration when she was young, holds a negative opinion of her after a tense episode on the talk show “Live with Regis and Kelly.”
Pink Opens Up On Her Beef With Madonna
Pink revealed that the discord between her and Madonna began prior to their performance on the morning chat show 2003. It seems that Pink was a massive fan of Madonna, but the same may not have been the case when it came to the latter.
Madonna had allegedly invited her to the dressing room, but Pink apparently stated: “I thought she wanted to meet me,” in a joke that didn’t go down well.
In her comments to Howard Stern, Pink said: “No. Madonna doesn’t like me, I don’t know why. Some people just don’t like me.
“She kind of tried to play me on [US talk show Live With Regis And Kelly] and I’m not the one, it didn’t work out.” This was not the only controversial encounter between them.
Pink opened up on how Madonna had wanted to include her in the infamous 2003 MTV ceremony where she kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. But given that Pink was on holiday with her husband, it did not materialize.
But that did not stop her from feeling a little bit fazed. In some prior comments at the time, she remarked: “It was supposed to be me, Gwen and Britney.
“Madonna originally wanted me, Britney and Gwen. But I know how Madonna’s mind works. She was the boss. She was the groom.”
Looking back, it was best that Pink did not get involved. Madonna has since then been criticized for her outlandish behavior and appearances, as shown by her provocative social media posts. With that being said, it is safe to say that Pink dodged a bullet.
