There are many choices for the top heels in NXT. While it seems easier to make heels than it does babyfaces, I think that is harder to make the heels creditable and NXT has done a good job so far with this. Here are the top heels on NXT at the moment.
Dijak
Despite his loss at NXT Judgement Day to North American champion, Wes Lee, I think that Dijak still deserves a spot on this list. As far as I am concerned, he is still the number one or two contenders for the North American title.
As far as heels go, I think that he still has a way to go, but he has one of the best heel looks on the brand and I think that he will win the North American title very soon.
I think that lately, NXT has done a solid job pushing Dijak as a monster heel, but he need meaningful wins before the fans can truly accept him as a big time bad guy.
It seems like he is getting ready to have some type of program with Tony D’Angelo and I can’t wait to see where it is going to go, but look for him to have some type of rematch with Wes Lee very soon.
Zoey Stark
The same thing that I said about Roxanne Perez, I will say about Zoey. Jacy would be in this spot after what she did this past Tuesday by turning on her long time tag team partner Gigi Dolin, but I think we need to see more.
As far as Zoey goes, she is the top heel in the women’s division. It is crazy because I can see her staying away from the title for a long time. I think that she will eventually get her hands on it.
I like her doing what she is doing now for the women’s division. It is almost like she is helping bring the rest of the division along faster by working with them. I think that her next program will be against upcoming Sol Ruca.
She is also involved in a program with fan favorite, Nikkita Lyons. It is kind of implied that Zoey is the one that injured her but I am sure that she is involved somehow.
Carmelo Hayes
I think that Melo has been the top heel on the brand for a long time. He has everything that you would want for top star on a brand.
I like that while he is usually protected very well, that WWE is not afraid to allow him to be beaten. I think that Melo is a big part of the future of not only NXT but WWE as a whole.
He is one of the people that I can see being in the same spot that Roman Reigns is. He has all of the tools. I know that this is said about many wrestlers, but realistically, Melo is that guy.
Melo is on a crash course with NXT Champion, Bron Breakker, and I think that he has the biggest chance at winning.
Before he gets to that point, I think that there might be one or two big challengers in his way.
