However, it turned out that this was just a ruse. The show “I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’ tried to deceive 12 contestants into thinking they were involved with Prince Harry when in reality, they were courting Matt Hicks, a person resembling the British prince.
For the show, the creators put the female participants in an extravagant English estate that resembled a castle and staged a range of events, like simulated paparazzi invasions and security risks, to give the feeling that they were involved with a real royalty. Unfortunately, the show was removed from the air after four episodes due to its low ratings.
Therefore, she knew that she was going to receive an extensive amount of backlash. But for all the criticism that may have come her way, she has now changed her tune.
Birch’s viewpoint was altered when Harry and actress Meghan Markle got engaged in 2017. With that being said, she felt a sense of relief as it showed that a member of royalty could marry an actress, who may not have been the biggest name out there.
In her comments, she said: “Then I remember hearing about the backlash that Meghan Markle got. She was just this B-list actress.
“She was a nobody, and now she’s married to Prince Harry. For me, it’s just so ironic. It was life imitating art.” Although that may have been the case, Birch did finally realize that it was not really Harry.
And in any event, she credited Meghan for being able to deal with the issues that came her way. She added: “I give Meghan Markle so much credit. I, personally, wouldn’t be able to handle being under a microscope like that.”
