Over the past two decades in WWE, one constant name has been Randy Orton. A third generation professional wrestler, Randy picked up right where his grandfather & father left off, and surpassed both of them – becoming a 14 time world champion. Most recently we saw him form a tag team with Matt Riddle to win the RAW Tag Team Championships, but has been absent from WWE programming over the last few months due to a back injury – but he could be very close to a return.
Randy Orton Set To Return Soon – Made Order For New Wrestling Boots
Despite rumours that Orton would be forced into retirement due to his back injury, he’s made the first step towards a return – having a new pair of boots made. Pro wrestling bootmaker Jose G Sanz posted an Instagram story, where he mentioned Orton contacted him in regards to an upcoming return.
“I haven’t made them yet but Randy Orton contacted me via email for his return. Currently, Drew McIntyre and Bray Wyatt are some of the biggest superstars. Today I received an order for boots for Cody for Wrestlemania.”
Sanz has been working alongside WWE for many years making boots. A good pair of boots can provide a lot of safety against injuries in professional wrestling, and Sanz has proven himself reliable.
Possible First Feud For Former Protege Cody Rhodes?
With Orton set to return soon, the next question is when does he return. WrestleMania 39 is just around the corner, and we could see Orton make his return that night – on the biggest possible stage. There is a good chance that if Cody Rhodes is successful in defeating Roman Reigns to claim the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania, Orton is one of his first big challengers as champion.
Orton & Rhodes have history in WWE, with Orton being a mentor to Rhodes as part of the Legacy faction. Add in that Orton has been used as a test for other new main event stars in WWE like Kofi Kingston & Drew McIntyre due to his reliable nature and he’d be a perfect fit to test Rhodes in a series of PPV matches.
