During NXT Vengeance Day – Apollo Crews had some crushing defeats back to back. He would lose 2-0 to Carmelo Hayes in a Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls match, and while he fought Dabba Kato (formerly Commander Azez) returned to help him – he was slammed after the bell. Tonight, Kato makes his way onto NXT TV – and could be a big problem for the NXT roster. Dante Chen would be his opponent tonight, who has to slay a giant if he wants the victory.

    Dabba Kato Crushes Dante Chen

Kato would instantly toss Chen to the mat face first, before driving him into the corner for an overhand chop. Some shoulder tackles would follow, with Chen trying to fight back only to carried into the middle of the ring and thrown up into a Flapjack. Kato would see Chen trying to roll out of the ring, and tossed him from the apron to the middle of the ring.

Chen would get his boots up as Kato charged into the corner, finally getting an opening. The crowd would get behind Chen as he hit strike after strike, getting him down to a knee with a pump kick. Chen would be dropped with a stiff chop from a kneeling Kato – before the powerbomb ended this match. After the mask, Kato would say that Crews knows why he got dropped, and we will need to wait to hear it from Crews himself.

Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre Trigger A War With Diamond Mine, New Figure Arrives In NXT?

Isla Dawn is a woman on a mission – having already been able to bewitch Alba Fyre after their encounters. She would recently accuse Tatum Paxley of being the one to injure Nikkita Lyons, prompting the Diamond Mine rookie to prove her innocence tonight – as she goes one on one with Dawn. Paxley remains a promising name in the division, but with how much power Dawn has gained recently – defeating her will be a very tall task.

Dawn would be taken into the ropes quickly, being able to shove her way free. Paxley was thrown throat first into the top rope, before Dawn hit a running double knee strike. Dawn would get a two count, before Paxley fired off some elbow smashes.

Paxley would hit the Step Up Enziguri to send Dawn into the corner, and followed up with a Gutwrench Suplex. A diving crossbody would be avoided by Dawn, setting up the Final Cut for the finish. Another dominant win for Dawn – and Ivy Nile was the only person who stopped a post match attack from Fyre, which might have just set up a tag team match.

Following this match, attention was drawn to someone arriving in the parking lot. They’d step out of the back of a car, and make their way into the building – with their identity remaining unclear.

    The Irish Ace vs. HIM

During this time in NXT, Carmelo Hayes has done everything for a singles star to do, but win the NXT Championship. Despite this, JD McDonagh feels like Hayes just isn’t ready to be the face of the brand. He is ready to play gatekeeper, and tonight – will go one on one with Hayes, and look to put him in the emergency room.

Hayes & McDonagh would lock up in the middle of the ring – with Hayes able to escape a wrist lock. McDonagh tried for a Northern Lights Suplex, but Hayes would land on his feet. Hayes would prove that going hold for hold was a losing battle, and McDonagh would throw his first strike. McDonagh would find himself sent to the floor, before Hayes threw some elbow smashes in the corner.
A brawl would suit the skills of McDonagh, able to strike Hayes down to the mat. McDonagh would hit a Backdrop Suplex and Flapjack onto the ropes – going after the ribs of Hayes, which Crews focused on during the Best 2 Out Of 3 falls match. Hayes would even find himself bent around the ring post in an evil back breaking hold.

McDonagh would keep the pressure on using a rear chinlock in the middle of the ring – with Hayes able to break free. SOme chops in the corner would be followed by the set up for The Fade Away, with McDonagh able to avoid it by slipping to the apron. A superkick sent him down to the floor, and Hayes tried to hit the dive – but landed on the waiting knee of McDonagh, causing more damage to the ribs.

Ilja Dragunov Helps Carmelo Hayes To Victory

Cobra Twist would be applied in the middle of the ring, with Hayes break free again – taking more effort this time. McDonagh was hit with a bodyslam, before getting an inside cradle for a two count. Spanish Fly in the middle of the ring would get McDonagh another near fall, before he was set up for and nailed with The Fade Away in the ring.

McDonagh would look for the Uranage, but was unable to slam Hayes down before ending up in the Crossface. The bottom rope would get McDonagh to freedom, and a sit out powerbomb would follow for a near fall. Hayes would hit the Codebreaker for another near fall in this closely fought match. Trying to go to the top rope would fail – as McDonagh grabbed the boot of Hayes.

The music of Ilja Dragunov would hit, and he’d rush the ring. Hayes would take advantage of the McDonagh being shocked, rolling up McDonagh for the win. After the bell, McDonagh would be run out of the building by Dragunov – who he had put on the shelf.
