When The Elite would win the Best of Seven series against Death Triangle to reclaim the AEW World Trios Championships – they would pledge to show the world their style of trios wrestling. They’ve already managed defences against factions like The Firm and stopped two challenges from AR Fox & Top Flight. Tonight however might be their biggest test to date however – as they must face a menacing team in House of Black. Led by Malakai Black, House of Black are waging war against all in AEW – and having some gold around their waists will ensure their victims will come to them for destruction.
The Elite Have Never Faced A Team Like This
Omega & Matthews would start this match off, with Matthews grabbing a wrist lock and forcing Omega down to the mat. Matthews would realise Omega is no slouch on the mat, before trying to trade strikes with him – and once again being met with a stalemate. Black would tag himself in the match, and Omega was able to block a leg kick before taking Black down to the mat.
Black tried to corner Omega, but Omega flipped out of the corner before a snug takedown from Black led to an armbar. Omega found his feet, but ducked the Black Mass kick before the crowd erupted into cheers. Matt Jackson would call out Brody King, with Nick Jackson helping with a double dropkick – with King taking both men down. Omega was next to fall, before an all out brawl in the middle of the ring from all six men.
Matthews would be isolated by Young Bucks, before being sent to the floor where Matt dove onto Matthews & Black with a crossbody. Omega & King would trade strikes in the middle of the ring, with Omega using a hurricanrana to set up a 450 Splash from Nick for a one count. King would use his pure power to keep The Elite down, as Nick would be isolated in the House of Black corner.
Nick would roll Matthews up for a two count, before completing a tag to Omega. Flying crossbody took King down, but the Polish Hammer was easily blocked. Basement dropkick would set up the Kotoro Crusher, getting Omega a two count. Young Bucks were taken off the apron as House Of Black looked for a three way strike in the corner, only for Matt & Nick to revive in time for a double superkick.
House Of Black Win Their First AEW Championships
King would miss the cannonball senton, and Omega hit a Kamigoye Knee Strike to the back of the neck. Omega would get a two count before trying for the One Winged Angel on King – only to be met with a Burning Lariat. Nick would try to assist Omega, but was taken out by Black – who followed up with a jumping knee to the jaw of Omega.
Black would apply the kneebar, with Matt breaking this hold up using an elbow drop. Matt would use Black to hit Sliced Bread No. 2 on Matthews, but was dropped by a knee strike from Black. Omega & Black would trade strikes in the middle of the ring, causing a double down.
Nick Jackson would be put in the Hangman’s Sleeper by King, with Matt helping his brother free before King was dropped with a V-Trigger. Omega would tank a roundhouse kick from Black before hitting two Dragon Suplexes. Julia Hart was taken out with a V-Trigger from Omega, which distracted for long enough for Black to hit the Black Mass. Nick would be there to save the match, as Omega was out. House of Black took Nick out, and hit Dante’s Inferno on Omega. Matt made the save, but was taken out moments later.
Omega was surrounded three on one, but House of Black wasted time, allowing Young Bucks to revive and hit some superkicks. Black was met by the BTE Trigger – with Matthews there to make the save. Meltzer Driver was blocked as Nick took a knee to the face. Dante’s Inferno on Matt – and we have new AEW World Trios Champions in House of Black.
Jamie Hayter Looks To Kill Two Birds With One Stone
Jamie Hayter is tired of dealing with Saraya & Toni Storm – and isn’t too pleased about dealing with Ruby Soho either. Her solution is to take down two challengers at once, putting the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against both Saraya & Soho tonight. Soho has yet to claim gold in her AEW run despite a few attempts, while Saraya is a former World Champion from her time as Paige in WWE, and is keen on adding more gold to her trophy case.
Hayter & Soho would quickly work to take Saraya down, trying to remove her from the match. Saraya would respond by pulling Saraya to the floor and throwing her into the crowd. Soho would ensure Saraya joined Hayter, before a jumping crossbody off the barricade. Hayter & Saraya would take chops from Soho, before joining up to hit a flapjack onto the barricade.
Saraya brought this match back into the ring, before stomping Hayter into the corner. Hayter would take some knee strikes in the ropes, before a snap suplex attempt was blocked. Soho hit the ring and hit an STO on Hayter, getting a near fall in the process before moving into a Rear Chinlock. Hayter broke free, and hit a double headlock suplex on both challengers before a double lariat for a two count.
Ruby Soho Picks Her Side
Saraya would be dropped with a backdrop driver, before walking into the HateBreaker. Soho & Hayter would pummel Saraya into the mat, before Soho blocked the Haterade Lariat, and hit the low angle Hurricanrana for the two count. Soho went to the top rope, but Hayter was able to rush in and set up a superplex. Saraya would come in and take both down with a powerbomb, before applying the submission on Soho.
While applying this hold, Saraya left herself open for a lariat – with Toni Storm distracting the referee. Britt Baker would return the favor, allowing Soho to hit Destination Unknown. Soho ducked the lariat with Hayter hitting Saraya instead. Hayter would manage to catch Soho with a flash pinfall, and was able to walk away as champion.
Storm would attack after the bell, with Saraya helping out. Baker tried to make the save but was unable, and Soho had to pick a side finally. She would send Storm & Saraya to the floor, saying they don’t run this place – it belongs to her. Soho would hit the No Future Kick on Hayter before Destination Unknown on Baker. She’d take the spray paint from Storm, and spray painted an L on the champion.
