On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, we would see The Young Bucks written off TV for a time.
The show would start with them being loaded into an ambulance after being attacked backstage – with Blackpool Combat Club members Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta as the current suspects. This however is a cover due to an injury suffered by Matt Jackson – leaving him unable to compete.
Matt Jackson Suffers Torn Bicep During Recent Trios Match
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer would report that during the Triple Threat Six Man Tag Team Match over the AEW World Trios Championships from Winnipeg – Matt Jackson would suffer a ‘partially torn bicep’.
He has opted to not get surgery, leaving no clear timeline for a return. Given The Young Bucks status as tag team and trios specialists, it’s likely that Nick Jackson will also be taking this time off – ensuring both return at 100%.
We can hope to see the brothers back in a few months time, and in professional wrestling absence just makes the heart of fans grow fonder.
The Young Bucks have had a lot of TV time since their return at AEW Full Gear 2022, with the Best Of Seven Match Series between The Elite & Death Triangle giving them plenty of ring time.
Kenny Omega To Thrive In Singles Action With Young Bucks Out Of Action
With The Young Bucks out – we are seeing Kenny Omega return to the singles ranks in AEW. As a former AEW World Heavyweight Champion – Omega is expected to climb the singles ranks very quickly, with his victory over El Hijo del Vikingo starting a big run.
Tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite, he will defend the IWGP United States Championship against Jeff Cobb, which is another big singles match for Omega.
With Don Callis in his corner pushing Omega to once again prove he’s “The God Of Professional Wrestling” – some suspect that it will be revealed he was behind the attack on The Young Bucks, with Konosuke Takeshita as the man who took them down.
This could be a way to set up a major singles match for Takeshita and Omega – potentially giving Takeshita his first huge singles win in AEW.
