For much of the history of All Elite Wrestling, it’s been widely considered that their women’s division has been one of their weaker aspects. This was due to not really being able to sign many of the top female names in the industry, with most being under contract to WWE. However in 2023, that is no longer an issue. Their homegrown talent has pushed to improve, and AEW has signed some major names like Athena, Toni Storm, Saraya, and Jamie Hayter to boost the division. They are starting to steal the show, leading to demands they get more TV time – and Tony Khan might look to do that with a new show titled All Elite Women.
Tony Khan Talks New ‘All Elite Women’ Plans
During the AEW Revolution 2023 media call, Tony Khan would be asked about a recent trademark that was filed by AEW, that being “All Elite Women”. Khan would say this is a show he hopes to get picked up.
“I would love to have that show be a show that gets picked up. It is an idea I had for a show and something I would love to do, All Elite Women, and that’s why I filed the trademark, I think it’s a good idea. We have a great women’s roster and I would love to utilize them as much as possible. Anytime we can develop more programming to feature our roster, it’s something that is a great opportunity for the company and the wrestlers. In the case of the women’s locker room, there are a number of really deserving talents and people we feature on TV regularly and people I’d like to feature more. That was the idea behind All Elite Women that’s still an idea and I think it would be a great thing if it ever gets picked up.”
Since 2019, Tony Khan has been able to build a very strong female roster in AEW & Ring of Honor. In addition to this, he’s built partnerships with companies like Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling & Impact Wrestling – which would only help to improve a potential female focused show.
