WrestleMania weekend is finally here- and the in-ring action begins with NXT Stand & Deliver. The future of WWE lives on the NXT brand – and a series of huge matches came earlier today. We had some dramatic moments, and some title changes – and the full results are ahead.
New NXT Women’s Champion Crowned In Giant Ladder Match
During the pre-show, we got the eight man tag team match between Chase U & Schism – with this being the in-ring debut of Ava Raine, daughter of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
The winner would claim ownership of Andre Chase University – making it as high staked as any title match. Duke Hudson would tease turning on Chase U – but ultimately won the match for his team.
The main card opened with the ladder match for the NXT Women’s Championship. Roxanne Perez entered as champion, and held her ground throughout the match – eventually taken down by Tiffany Stratton.
Gigi Dolin looked to take advantage, only for her ex tag team partner Jacy Jayne to rush the ring and shove her off a ladder. Indi Hartwell would get some help from husband Dexter Lumis, and finally added the NXT Women’s Championship to her trophy case.
Gallus would enter a Triple Threat match with the NXT Tag Team Championships around their waists – facing The Creed Brothers and The D’Angelo Family.
Joe Coffey would make his return midway through the match, helping his faction mates leave with their reign intact. Joe has been missing since 2022, meaning this puts Gallus at full strength once again.
Wes Lee would once again enter a huge match at NXT North American Champion – facing down Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Ilja Dragunov and Axiom in a Fatal Five Way.
It was a constant flow of action from 5 of the bright young stars of WWE, with Lee able to overcome the odds once again and prove he belongs as champion.
Johnny Gargano Crushes Grayson Waller In Grudge Match, The Carmelo Hayes Era Arrives
A grudge match 16 months in the making was up next, as Grayson Waller took on NXT legend Johnny Gargano in an Unsanctioned match. Waller was the one to crash the exit speech of Gargano last February, thinking Gargano would never have a chance to retaliate.
While trying to bait Shawn Michaels into a match at the event, Michaels instead called upon Gargano. It was a violent affair full of weapons, with Gargano getting aid from his wife Candice LeRae in a gratifying beatdown on the Arrogant Aussie, and claiming the win – showing his soul still bleeds black and gold.
The bewitching duo of Isla Dawn & Alba Fyre would challenge Fallon Henley & Kiana James for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Henley tried to cheat to remain champion, but this would backfire – leading to new tag team champions being crowed.
The main event of the event was the biggest money match in WWE NXT – as NXT Champion Bron Breakker finally defended against Carmelo Hayes.
They have been like two ships passing in the night since their rises in the NXT 2.0 era, the clear two top names on the brand. Hayes would rely on the interference of Trick Williams to try to maintain his advantage, with Williams kicked out midway through the match.
Breakker had Hayes tapping out with the Steiner Recliner, but the referee was down – allowing Williams to hit Breakker with the belt, with Breakker refusing to stay down.
Press Slam was blocked into The First 48, and Nothing But Net meant we have a new NXT Champion – the Carmelo Hayes era is finally here.
Who will face Hayes first during his reign? Will Bron Breakker join RAW or Smackdown? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
