When we think of John Morrison, we tend to remember his from his days in Lucha Underground, as Johnny Impact in Impact Wrestling, and his time in the WWE.
His parkour style has made him one of the more entertaining wrestlers to watch, but it seems like he’s often treated more as a sideshow in the bigger promotions than not.
John Morrison Ignores Jack and Logan Paul, Challenges KSI Following a Successful Boxing Debut
Never one to back down from a challenge, Morrison has moved into boxing and made his debut against Youtuber Harley Morenstein at Creator Clash 2 on Saturday April 15.
His debut was as successful as possible and he has his sights set on his next opponent.
Dominant showing
Morrison dominated in his first boxing match as he knocked out Morenstein in the third round, but he’s been described as a clear amateur and that Morenstein was out of his element.
While we don’t expect Morrison to make a jump into any major boxing matches, this was a cool moment for him to stretch his legs a little.

And it looks like he has plans to be more than a one hit wonder.
After his match, he cut a promo in the ring where he passed on the Logan brothers and challenged Youtuber and rapper KSO to be his next opponent.
“When I’m thinking about who to call out, Jake [Paul]? Logan [Paul]? No, Jake got beat, Logan got beat by KSI, which is why I’m going to put KSI on blast right now.”
This has potential to be an interesting contest as KSI is a bit more seasoned as a boxer with six bouts and a record of 5-0-1. At 29 years old, he’s also 14 years younger than Morrison, but Morrison’s training regimen could give him an edge or at least level the odds some.
Resembling a WWE storyline
What’s really interesting about this is it feels like the type of storyline Vince McMahon would’ve signed off on in the WWE.
Morrison pointing out KSO beat Logan Paul, who is currently in the WWE and has had a love/hate relationship with Morrison’s best friend the Miz really makes us wonder.
It’s too easy to say strings are being pulled behind the scenes for that reason, and since Morrison doesn’t work for the WWE anymore it feels more like a personal angle to ramp up the entertainment factor.
As of right now, Morrison is sticking to the independent circuit for the most part as he’s working with Major League Wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide with an occasional appearance with AEW.
What do you think of Morrison’s debut? Could he be angling for a WWE contract? Let us know in the comments below.
