For the past year, Austin Theory has knocked at the door of a sixteen time world champion in John Cena – but never expected that door to actually open.
However, while he’s busy with Hollywood these days, Cena always keeps tabs on the happenings of WWE, and took notice of Theory.
Now, Cena will meet Theory one on one at WrestleMania – and look to hold the United States Championship once again. This is the biggest night in the career of Theory, and a true test at just how far he’s come.
Austin Theory Controls The 16 Time World Champion
Cena would apply the headlock as this match began, taking Theory down to the mat. Theory would battle back to his feet – before being driven into the corner.
Cena would have his ear bitten, getting Theory an opening to jump Cena from behind to gain the advantage.
Snap Suplex would follow, getting Theory a one count. Cena blocked the next suplex attempt, before taking a rolling blockbuster from Theory for a two count.
Theory was in control of the pace of the match, but a rolling dropkick was blocked into the STF – with Theory biting the hands of Cena to get free.
Cena would be dropped with a series of cocky punches from Theory, who would try to pin Cena with a single boot – an insult to the legend he’s sharing the ring with.
Some more heavy stomps would follow, before Cena was able to block and looked for the AA – with Theory blocking into a DDT for two.
John Cena Falls At WrestleMania 39 – The Theory Era Has Arrived?
Cena would side step a charge in the corner and hit the ropes – only to be sucked into a sleeper hold. Theory would be rammed into the corner, before Cena started up the Five Moves Of Doom.
Two Shoulder Tackles would set up the Spin Out Powerbomb and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Theory would grab the top rope to avoid the AA, and the referee was dropped in the process.
Drop Toehold into the STF would see Theory tap out – with no referee to count the pinfall. Cena would let the hold go, taking a low blow for his troubles. A-Town Down would follow – and Cena was down for the three count.
Theory overcame the odds, and can say he defeated one of the greatest of all time at WrestleMania. Will this be Cena’s final WrestleMania match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
