Jamie Hayter has been a dominant AEW Women’s World Champion since 2022, but damage is starting to add up on her. The recent battles with The Outcasts has Hayter coming into her latest title defence nursing a shoulder injury.
Toni Storm is her opponent, and knows this injury very well. She will look to exploit the state of Hayter, and finally be recognized as an AEW Women’s World Champion in the process.
Their match at Full Gear 2022 is among the best in the company’s history – but will Hayter even make the ring tonight with her injury?
Toni Storm & The Outcasts Run Jamie Hayter Out Of Championship Role
The music of Hayter would play twice before she finally emerged – with Ruby Soho & Saraya having attacked her again. She would be forced down to the ring, and driven shoulder first into the corner post.
Storm & Soho would stretch the shoulder around the ring post, before Hayter was driven into the steel steps. Saraya would hold the arm in place, and Storm hit a series of dropkicks.
Finally hitting the ring, Hayter would asked if she can compete – and being a fighting champion, said yes. Storm would jump on Hayter with a kick and get a two count, before applying an armbar.
Saraya would remove a turnbuckle cover, before Britt Baker finally came to the aid of Hayter. Saraya was taken out of the match, but the referee was in the corner dealing with Soho as Storm was thrown that way.
Hayter hit a backbreaker, but only got a two count. The referee was groggy, and Soho sprayed Hayter in the eyes with paint to set up a running hip attack.
Soho would be taken out by Hikaru Shida – another ally of the champion. In the ring, Storm was bashed into the exposed corner and hit with the Haterade – with the damage to the arm preventing Hayter from making the quick cover.
Firing up for a second lariat, Hayter would be shoved into the corner shoulder first before the Storm Zero piledriver. For the first time in AEW history, we have a two time AEW Women’s World Champion in Toni Storm. It took an army to take Hayter down, and that might not work a second time.
House Of Black Had No Time To Prepare For The Acclaimed
House of Black have been dominant as the AEW World Trios Champions, and after tearing through the trio of AR Fox, Blake Christian & Gran Metalik – they still crave violence.
They would announce an open challenge for tonight, with the titles on the line and house rules in play. With a 20 count on the floor, no rope breaks, and DQ rules strictly enforced, House of Black stack the deck in their favour. However – their opponents get to choose a rule to add, giving a chance – provided they choose that rule wisely.
The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn accepted the challenge, and refused the extra rule – with Caster also saying Matthews has been cucked by a kid named Dominik, playing mind games.
Matthews would start with Bowens, with Bowens dodging the Skull Kick and sitting with Black in the ring and asking him to bring it. Matthews would stomp the arm of Bowens as the crowd started a Dominik chant.
Bowens would be able to hit the step up bulldog, before tagging Caster into the match. Matthews would be taken to the floor and tossed onto the apron with a back drop, before Caster brought this back into the ring.
Black got the tag, and was dropped with a shoulder tackle. Caster sprung back to his legs, before taking a roundhouse kick.
King got the the tag and played the role of enforcer perfect – flattening Caster with a huge lariat. Black would get the tag, which was a mistake – as The Acclaimed took control and tried for Scissor Me Timbers. Bowens would be caught into a kneebar, and with no rope breaks – had to fight his way free.
Anthony Bowens Fights To A Tag – But It’s Not Enough
Bowens would use an Ushigoroshi, dropping Black on the injured knee. House of Black had beaten down his partners outside, meaning no tag was available.
Black would kick Bowens in the leg and reapply the kneebar – dragging Bowens to the corner. Matthews got the tag and hit the Meteora, before Black got back in and applied a Calf Slicer.
Bowens tried to use the ropes to get free, but again – that doesn’t help here. He’d fight free and try to get to the corner, but House of Black refused to let this happen. Maybe The Acclaimed should have chosen Tornado Rules instead of ignoring Dealers Choice, as they could help Bowens with those rules.
King would almost lose control of Bowens, but used his power to drive Bowens into the corner with a spinebuster. He’d drive Caster & Gunn off the apron and hit the Cannonball – but Caster still made the save. Black would drive Caster into the corner, but Bowens blocked Dante’s Inferno – and hit the Superkick on Matthews.
Finally, he’d get the tag – getting Gunn into the match. Gunn would run down the competition, even hitting the One & Only. King took a massive Fame Asser, and Matthews took one in the ropes.
However, Black hit The End – and it just takes one kick to snuff out even a legend like Gunn. House of Black claim more victims, and remain champion.
