Blackpool Combat Club aren’t keen on days off. Just three days removed from the insanity of Anarchy in The Arena, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta have accepted a trios match.
The lucha trio of the ROH World Tag Team Champions The Lucha Bros & Bandido are as fast as a trio in professional wrestling get – and have a strong chance of taking down BCC tonight.
Adding some fuel to this fire, Bandido has recently been accepted into The Best Friends faction, something that never came around for Yuta – making this potentially very personal.
Blackpool Combat Club March To War Just Days After Anarchy In The Arena
Bryan Danielson took his spot on commentary, dodging questions of Konosuke Takeshita & Don Callis joining the BCC. Moxley and pals were sent to the floor with a triple superkick, but were able to block a trio dive with a series of stiff strikes. The floor is where the BCC thrive – and after getting some heavy blows in, Yuta would roll Bandido into the ring.
Bandido would get Yuta with a delayed suplex, holding him up for a count of seventy before dropping him with a brainbuster for a near fall.
Bandido would tag out to Penta who hit the backstabber to Yuta, before getting back into the match. Yuta would avoid a springboard crossbody from Bandido, letting him roll to the floor where Castagnoli hit a piledriver. A snap suplex from Yuta would follow, before Bandido was rolled back into the ring – having completely lost control.
Moxley would apply a front headlock choke, before moving to a single legged crab to properly ground the luchador. Bandido would get the ropes to break free, before hitting some strikes in the corner before a springboard tornado crossbody – getting a chance to tag Fenix.
Castagnoli would meet Fenix in the middle of the ring, and was quickly outpaced and dropped with a strong thrust kick to the face.
Wheeler Yuta Scores Another Huge Victory, Kenny Omega Has Left The Country?
Yuta would try to make the save but took a double superkick from the Lucha Bros. Penta would use Castagnoli to launch into a DDT on Moxley, before being dropped with a lariat from Castagnoli.
Yuta & Bandido would hit the ring and traded strikes, before Yuta would rake the eyes and hit the ropes – and was caught by a running dropkick. Pop up cutter was followed by a Frog Splash – with Yuta kicking out at two.
Bandido would try to hit the 21Plex, but Moxley would stop Yuta from being lifted into the German Suplex. Yuta would catch Bandido with the Hammer & Anvil Elbow smashes – battering him until he was barely conscious, and putting Bandido in the seatbelt pinfall for the win.
After taking the main event pinfall last week, Yuta responded by pinning Kenny Omega & Bandido in the span of three days. Bryan Danielson hit the ring to join the celebration, praising the incredible progress Yuta has made over the past year.
Following this, we’d catch up with The Elite – with Matt Jackson saying that he never expected to use tricks like an explosive superkick, but BCC pushed them to a new level.
One setback is not going to put The Elite down – they are the heart of AEW, and are still beating. Hangman Page would be interrupted by Dark Order, Page’s former friends in the company.
Omega is not in the United States – but he’s not in Canada either, which was the final update as Page looked to clear the air with Dark Order.
