Last week, Roderick Strong went toe to toe with Chris Jericho in a Falls Count Anywhere match. This took them all around the arena, and to the outside – where Adam Cole was ready to ambush Jericho.

After pinning Jericho in the dirt, Strong needs to deal with one of the proteges of Jericho in Daniel Garcia. Currently the Pro Wrestling Guerilla Champion, Garcia is carving out a path similar to what we seen from Strong as he found his place in wrestling – making this a clash of eras.

Roderick Strong Teaches Daniel Garcia A Lesson In Backbreakers

Strong would block a takedown attempt from Garcia as this match began, before hitting his first chop to the chest of Garcia. A tight headlock takeover would take Garcia back down to the mat, before Strong would lose control. Garcia threw some heavy strikes, before he got a reminder why Strong is nicknamed ‘The Messiah Of The Backbreaker’.

Strong would follow up with a backdrop suplex, getting a one count before things spilled to the floor. Garcia would be able to get the upper hand with some quick strikes, before gaining the high ground and stomping Strong as he tried to get back into the ring. Strong would roll into the ring despite this, but Garcia kept the stomps coming.

Garcia would waste time dancing, and Strong quickly took advantage with the single leg dropkick. Jumping Knee Strike would set up the Angle Slam, before looking for the Gutbuster.

Garcia was able to counter, but suffered a backbreaker instead. Strong would end up in the Dragon Tamer as Garcia showed his skills as a professional wrestler – but was able to shove him off.

Double Knee Gutbuster would set up End Of Heartache – a move that few men kick out of. Strong gets the win, remaining undefeated in AEW since making his debut a few weeks back. He will be in the corner of Adam Cole this Sunday at Double Or Nothing, as Cole meets Chris Jericho in an Unsanctioned Match.

Lucha Bros Face Blackpool Combat Club In Main Event

In a recent match on AEW Dynamite, Claudio Castagnoli was able to defeat Rey Fenix. In the process, he would earn Blackpool Combat Club a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Championships. Tonight, just a few days away from Anarchy In The Arena – Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta will look to take The Lucha Bros down, and carry more gold into Double Or Nothing in the process.

BCC would kick things off with a brawl, before Yuta was dropped with a superkick, and Castagnoli with a double superkick. Rolling to the floor, BCC weren’t safe – as Lucha Bros would fly to the floor to keep the pressure on. Penta would get back into the ring and hit a second dive, before holding the BCC in place for Fenix to fly again.

Made In Japan driver from Penta to Yuta would get a near fall, before Castagnoli broke the pinfall up. Lucha Bros would break down Castagnoli and try for the Fear Factor – but were stopped by Yuta. Penta was pulled to the floor, and Fenix tried to dive onto Castagnoli in the ring – only to take a European Uppercut.

Fenix would be launched into a backbreaker by Castagnoli, but was able to kick out. Yuta would grab a Deathlock on the legs of Fenix, grounding the high flyer. Fenix would break free, only to end up in the Giant Swing – with Yuta hitting the dropkick to Fenix. Ricola Bomb was set – but Fenix blocked Code Red to stay in this match.

The Elite Get The First Blow In MGM Grand Arena

Penta would get the tag, and hit the Powerbomb onto his knees to get a two count on Yuta. Looking for the armbreaker, Penta would play the crowd too long allowing Castagnoli to save his partner.

Fenix & Penta would break Castagnoli down with some strikes, before Penta launched off Fenix into a Canadian Destroyer. Fire Thunder Driver would spike Yuta, but this was not enough to get the victory.

Fenix would leap into an uppercut from Castagnoli before Yuta was launched with the Fast Ball Special for a two count. Castagnoli got a cheap shot in from the floor, before The Young Bucks emerged from under the ring and held him in place. Fear Factor on Yuta got the win – and The Elite hit a series of superkicks to Castagnoli.

The Elite meet Blackpool Combat Club this weekend, and Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson would try to chase The Young Bucks into the crowd.

Moxley would say that after this weekend, no one will recognize The Elite once they’re beaten to a bloody pulp. A promise of the most violent match in AEW history would follow, and Moxley warned squeamish fans to not watch.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world.
