Last week, Adam Cole called out Chris Jericho – only to be ambushed by the Jericho Appreciation Society instead. After Jericho would involve Britt Baker in their issues, Cole is heated.
Cole found some aid from former rival Orange Cassidy and Bandido – but it was still three vs. four. What turned the tides in Cole’s favour was the shocking debut of Roderick Strong.
Having fought alongside Cole in the Undisputed Era – Strong is someone to rely upon. Tonight, Cole, Strong, Bandido & Cassidy meet the J.A.S in eight man tag team action.
Chris Jericho Mocks Adam Cole Before Match Begins
Jericho would come to join commentary, wearing a shirt showing Cole’s partner Britt Baker sporting a black eye – some major mind games being played. On commentary, he’d call Cole a coward – having done nothing to protect the woman he loves, handcuffs would never have stopped Jericho in that situation.
Strong & Daniel Garcia would start this match, trading strikes in the middle of the ring – with Strong bringing some trademark stiff chops.
Cole would stomp Garcia into the neutral corner, before Garcia broke free to tag in Angelo Parker. Parker ate a pump kick from Cole, before Bandido got the tag – landing a big powerslam.
Menard would rush the ring to drop Bandido, inciting an eight man brawl from all men involved. Hager & Bandido traded knee strikes in the ring, before Hager tossed Cassidy across the ring.
Cole would choke Parker on the floor as Hager would beat down Cassidy in the ring, only to take a DDT to be sent to the floor. Cassidy would dive onto Hager, being caught for Garcia to hit a jumping knee smash.
Bandido would nail a dive next, wiping out Hager & Garcia. Cole would try to march up the ramp to get to Jericho – but Menard & Parker would stop this.
Bandido started a delayed vertical suplex on Parker, with Menard making the save – only ro Bandido to nail a double suplex.
Cassidy would hit a big dropkick on Menard & Parker, only to be dropped by Garcia. Hager would stomp the chest of Cassidy, before a big double leg takedown for a near fall.
Roderick Strong Proves His Skills – Leads Team To Victory
Parker & Menard would take turns beating down the AEW All-Atlantic Champion throughout the commercial break. Hager would apply a tight bearhug, but Cassidy broke free.
Strong would get the much needed tag, and showed why he’s known as the Messiah of the Backbreaker with a snap backbreaker on Menard.
Hager would take the Angle Slam from Strong, before Menard & Parker tried for a double DDT. Cassidy would make the save before ending up in the Dragon Tamer.
Bandido made the save and would hit a one handed press slam on Garcia. Cassidy hit the Orange Punch on Hager, before the Beach Break on Garcia.
Strong hit the jumping knee on Parker, and Cole would nail The Boom for the victory. He’d immediately sprint up the ramp and right onto Jericho – punching and choking the former AEW World Champion. Security would have to save Jericho, and that’s only a taste of what Cole is ready to bring to Jericho.
