CM Punk has set himself up to have a very busy weekend in Toronto, agreeing to two matches. Tonight he will team with FTR & Ricky Starks, as they look to bring the fight to Bullet Club Gold – containing Jay White, Juice Robinson, and potentially Austin Gunn & Colton Gunn.
With a singles match against NJPW legend Satoshi Kojima set for Forbidden Door as part of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup – Punk is just getting started. Add in issues between FTR & The Gunns, as well as Starks feud with White & Robinson – and this is one red hot main event.
CM Punk Isn’t In Chicago Anymore
The Gunns would get a separate entrance, still showing a slight split – though they proved on Dynamite to be on the same page as White & Robinson.
Starks would wait before hitting the ring, ensuring FTR & CM Punk would be there to back him up – having tasted the number game of Bullet Club Gold in the past. Punk got a less than favourable reception from the fans, but he still heard them making noise – and that’s enough for him.
He still had his supporters, but he wasn’t in Chicago anymore – and can’t expect to be the man they root for tomorrow night. White & Punk would start the match off, with White getting Punk fired up and tagging in Robinson – who had his own mind games to play.
Punk would manage to get the wrist of Robinbson and made the tag to Dax Harwood, who drove Robinson down with a shoulder tackle and a body slam.
Robinson would be taken into a side headlock takedown, but broke free and hit the jumping senton splash. Austin would get the tag, before being hit by a flying Cash Wheeler – and taking some very heavy strikes. Starks would get the tag next, and hit some clubbing blows on Austin. White would find a tag, and Starks would be keen to get some revenge… but White wanted Punk.
Punk got the tag, and White would show he’s just as loud mouthed as Punk before the lock up sent them into the corner. White would taste the strikes of Punk before nearly tasting the Go To Sleep. Blade Runner was avoided, before Punk was thrown to the floor and mauled by The Gunns – with FTR & Starks stopping things before they got out of hand.
Jay White Isolates Punk In Enemy Territory
Back in the ring, Punk would match up with Colton – with Punk having a major experience edge and proving it. Harwood got the tag, but Robinson was there to meet him with some hard hitting strikes. Robinson was able to win out, and went to the top rope but only found a right hand to the face. Superplex was the plan, and there was only one way down.
Colton & Wheeler found tags, with Colton whipped into the corner face first and rolled up for a two count. He’d stumble into a big knife edge chop, before a backbreaker and falling elbow from Punk – who got a two count.
Punk would take a kick to the face, before finding himself isolated in the wrong corner. White would hit some Switchblade Chops before making Punk smile for the camera.
Robinson would get the tag and work on the knee of Punk, and got a tag to Austin who kept the pressure on. It was smooth work from Bullet Club Gold – but very rough for Punk. White would get a tight waistlock applied, and there was dueling chants for White & Punk.
Punk was driven into the corner with a series of shoulder thrusts, before more Switchblade Chops. A diving lariat onto White would be the comeback, but he was having issues finding a tag. Punk would hit the rising knee into the corner, and a fast neckbreaker on White gave him an opening.. But The Gunns stopped him.
Bullet Club Gold Plays The Game Perfectly
Robinson would hit the ring and said it was time to put Punk to sleep, but the Go To Sleep was blocked – and Punk hit a head kick. Robinson stumbled into the tag to Austin, but they lost control and Starks got the much needed tag. Starks would take on The Gunns & White with ease, hitting a huge swinging DDT for a near fall.
FTR would go after White & Robinson, and Starks got a near fall off a Blue Thunder Bomb as White became legal. White would get a roll up with a handful of tights but only got a two count.
Starks would manage a brainbuster, but The Gunns made the save. FTR would take them out, with Wheeler hitting a press slam on Colten to the floor, before diving onto the pile.
Punk was set to follow, but dove into a Uranage by White instead. Starks took one of his own, before nailing spears on everyone who was moving.
White would send Starks into a Left Hand Of God from Robinson, and Blade Runner ended this match with a bang. After the match, White & Robinson welcomed The Gunns in – making their inclusion official.
