At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II – fans get to experience a true dream match. Kazuchika Okada will face Bryan Danielson, putting the leaders of Blackpool Combat Club & CHAOS against each other.
Tonight, we see another step in this faction war – as Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta will battle Rocky Romero, Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor.
Yuta is a former protege of Beretta & Taylor, and felt their lax attitude would only hold him back from his true potential – with this adding some personal fuel to this match.
Blackpool Combat Club Crush Three Of CHAOS’s Strongest Soldiers
Sporting a 7-0 trios record in AEW, the BCC were the instant favourites for this match – but Moxley took a chair thrown to the face before they even hit the ring. Romero dove onto Castagnoli, before Trent would superplex Yuta into the ring. The bell would ring and a piledriver would follow, with Castagnoli breaking the pinfall up.
The brawl-like nature of this match would continue on the floor, with Romero hitting a diving knee strike onto Moxley as Taylor hit a dive over the top rope onto Castagnoli.
Moxley took the Sole Food into the Half & Half Suplex, but CHAOS didn’t go for the pinfall. A cutter landed from Moxley, before a Hart Attack from Castagnoli & Yuta – getting a two count.
Taylor would find himself isolated by BCC, who cut the ring in half like the experts they are. Yuta briefly took his eye off the ball, and walked right into a Flatliner.
He’d come back with a German Suplex, but Taylor was able to make the tag. Trent & Moxley met in the ring, with Trent nailing the Spear before tagging in Romero.
A double knee strike from Romero & Trent would start some classic tag team offence from Roponngi Vice, before Moxley was draped over the top rope for the knee strike.
Sliding dropkick got a two count, before Strong Zero from Best Friends landed. Castagnoli made the save, and Moxley would be taken into the Diablo Armbar from Romero.
Moxley would be able to counter and apply the Bulldog Choke before shifting into the rear Naked Choke – as Yuta rained down Hammer & Anvil elbow smashes to Taylor – with BCC being named victorious as Romero taps out. A dominant performance from BCC, and a message sent right to Kazuchika Okada.
MJF Is A Bored Man
MJF is getting bored in AEW. He’s already had a Hall of Fame level run, defeating the likes of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and more. MJF has had the best Iron Man, Dog Collar & Fatal Four Way matches of all time, and is wondering what else there is to accomplish.
He has no interest in battling the roster of New Japan Pro Wrestling, viewing them as talentless hacks, but with Forbidden Door approaching – this might be inevitable. Tonight, we will hear from the AEW World Champion and find out his next steps.
MJF would say that even though the Colorado crowd has smoked their brain cells out, they should know to stay quiet when the champion has a microphone.
He’d say that there are few places more boring than Colorado, except an AEW ring when there’s no more competition. No one is on the level of The Devil – and the locker room knows this.
However, one man didn’t get that memo, as the music of Adam Cole would hit. Having defeated Chris Jericho twice in the same week, Cole is flying high – and is ready to take another crack at becoming AEW World Champion. MJF would cut Cole’s music before he got to hit the Bay-Bay chant – further angering the crowd.
Despite this, MJF was pleased – because he’s a fan of Adam Cole. When CM Punk abandoned a young fan named MJF, he was almost done with wrestling – but when he saw Cole on Ring of Honor TV – MJF was interested.
He was instantly hooked, and studied Cole religiously. MJF watched Cole from CZW to WWE – where he was Shawn Michaels handpicked man, and one of the best World Champions in company history.
All It Takes To Make MJF Cool Is Ringing The Damn Bell
He would admit to being a mark for Adam Cole, following in his footsteps – and knew that someday, their paths would cross. However, this current Cole showed up.
What happened to The Panama Playboy? Cole is now too busy playing video games and avoiding the sun… and the gym. Gone with the World Champion physique, and Cole is now so frail – he makes crack addicts jealous.
Cole isn’t presented badly by AEW, they’ve done everyone they could to make him cool again – gave him everything from the music to the girl.
What does AEW do to make MJF cool? They ring the damn bell. MJF is the greatest wrestler in the world, and Cole is no challenge for him – especially after Cole only jumped to AEW because Vince McMahon seen no potential in him.
At the time, MJF didn’t know how someone could not see potential in Cole – but looking at him eye to eye, he thinks Vince was right.
Cole would finally get a microphone, and asked if that was the best that MJF has? This is the man who runs through people on the microphone, with his material being more akin to that of an internet troll.
Adam Cole Plays MJF Like A Fiddle
Cole would ask why MJF is so fixated on others relationships, but knows it’s because MJF’s fiancee dropped him. MJF brought up Cole’s body, and while he can’t match him physically – they should go take a piss test together, and see who has the natural body.
Following the body of work of Cole, MJF lacks one thing – and that is the respect that Cole has in every locker room he enters.
There is not a man who respects MJF backstage in AEW, with the perception being that MJF is lazy – doing the bare minimum to get his paycheck.
MJF would bring up that Cole was meant to be Keith Lee’s manager, finishing the trifecta of internet troll comments. If MJF wasn’t a coward, he’d tried to fight Cole instead of being an internet troll, but the crowd knows Cole is better than MJF.
MJF was successfully baited – and would agree to face Cole one on one, and we might have another match for Forbidden Door. Could Adam Cole be our next AEW World Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
