‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers here and we’re set for a fun episode with a tribute to an old favorite, and we have plenty of spoilery goodies to go around.
It’s always fun when we get a tribute special and since it’s the show’s 50th anniversary season, the party just keeps going on.
Oh, and there’s some pesky Abbott family troubles happening too. Let’s dig into some spoilers!
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, June 22: Putting an end to it
Things have gotten pretty bad in the Abbott family when Tracy Abbott (Beth Maitland) has had enough and calls a family meeting, making sure to say there is no excuse for not attending.
“The Young and the Restless” Spoilers expect her to have caught wind of Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson)’s coup attempt, but mainly Tracy will be over her unreasonable hate toward Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
She’ll point out that Diane’s been a model citizen and makes Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) happy, and not once has she asked anything from any of them. In short, Ashley should accept and respect his choices rather than try to undermine him or Diane without just cause.
When Jack will thank her, we think Tracy will turn it around on him to accept and respect Ashley having Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) in her life, even if it’s only to rankle him.
Tracy isn’t a fan of either of them so the fact she’s calling for peace should send a message to everyone.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Thursday, June 22: John Abbott returns
In a continuing celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary season, we’re going to get a tribute to John Abbott (Jerry Douglas).
The character was killed off in 2006 reportedly because the showrunner at the time didn’t think it was believable for a man to run a cosmetics company, but he did appear in various ways until 2016.
Unfortunately, Jerry Douglas passed away in November of 2021 and we will only get to see him in flashbacks.
But it’ll be for a good cause as we think Tracy will use him and his memory as a way to get Jack and Ashley to stop their fighting and remember they’re brother and sister.
John wouldn’t want them fighting like they are and his memory may be enough to mend the fences between them to a point.
We doubt Ashley will be all in on the idea of backing off, but even if there’s a chance it could make Tracy’s efforts worth it.
