Chris Jericho knows that it’s time for a change. His time in AEW has brought some incredible highs, but lately all he’s found is lows – a cold streak. It’s been months since he won a big match, and last week – was given an offer to join up with Don Callis.
With this offer on his mind, Jericho looks to turn back the clock to his time in WCW as he faces a top luchador in Komander. Since making his debut, Komander has shown his incredible skills – and looks to get his first AEW victory.
Chris Jericho Stops Komander From Getting His First AEW Victory
Jericho would be calm as he started with Komander, having a clear size, power and experience edge. Komander would drive Jericho into the corner with some strikes, but Jericho came back twice as strong with some chops.
Jericho would try to launch Komander to the floor, but the balance of Komander allowed him to remain in the ring and catch Jericho off guard.
Komander would send Jericho to the floor, and a massive dive over the top rope would wipe him out. Jericho would be rolled into the ring and blocked a springboard with a simple anti-air forearm. A cocky pinfall would follow from Jericho, more to get Komander riled up than to win the match.
Jericho would nail some more heavy handed chops before a simple brainbuster. Komander would use a back heel kick to stun Jericho, before being sent to the floor with a hip toss. Jericho followed him, and would drive him spine first into the ring apron with a back suplex before driving him into the barricade.
Komander would find his way to the apron, but was brought into the ring the hard way with a suplex. Lionsault would be blocked into a cradle pinfall, with Komander nearly catching Jericho with the pin. Komander would try another quick pinfall, but again only getting two before taking a lariat.
Jericho would be grounded for the Rope Walk Shooting Star Press, but was able to kick out. Komander sent Jericho the floor for the Space Man Rope Walk, Komander showcasing his insane skills.
Springboard Phoenix Splash in the ring got another near fall, before another dive was blocked with a Codebreaker from Jericho. Dragonrana was blocked into the Liontamer, and Jericho gets the win.
What Would Bad News Allen Say?
After the match, the music of Don Callis would hit – and he was here to speak with Jericho once again. He’d say that the world is buzzing about the chance that Jericho joins up with Don Callis – saying that they can make history again. He’d have footage of the time they spent earlier in their career with Bad News Allen, with Callis wanting to bring that energy back.
They made a promise to Bad News Allen to stick together, and that was not the case. Callis would say that Allen is looking down from heaven, and knows what answer Jericho would give to Callis. He should honor this promise, and join the Don Callis family.
