Nick Wayne was handed an AEW contract by Darby Allin two years ago when he was just 16 years old, with it coming into effect when he turned 18. That time is now, and Wayne is facing a familiar opponent with Swerve Strickland.

Their matches on the indies showed the sheer potential that Wayne has, leading many to call Wayne a prodigy. Swerve knows just how good Wayne is, but intends to show everyone how much better he is – and crush Wayne’s dreams of a victory in his AEW debut.

Swerve Strickland Is Ruthless, But Effective

Wayne would be taken into the corner by Swerve as this match began, before blocking the Half & Half Suplex. Swerve would get Wayne down on the mat, but was unable to keep him there.

Wayne tried for a Code Red, but Swerve was able to block – before quickly dodging a kick. They know each other well after two previous singles meetings.

A running uppercut would land on Swerve, before Wayne showed his in-experience with turning his back on Swerve. He’d hit the Fisherman Suplex before trying for the Wayne’s World Cutter – but Swerve was able to block. Wayne would be taken to the apron and Swerve followed, only to be sent to the floor with a big hurricanrana.

Prince Nana would almost get into a fight with Wayne’s mom at ringside, as this match returned to the ring. A backdrop suplex would set up a dive from Wayne, but Swerve would stop him in his tracks before taking him to the floor. Swerve would gain the control as they returned to the ring, applying a rear chinlock.

Wayne was able to break free, hitting a shotgun dropkick to send Swerve into the corner. Springboard Stunner was blocked, but a Sliced Bread No. 2 would land.

Wayne’s World was blocked into a backbreaker, getting Swerve a two count. Darby Allin would cheer Wayne on as he was nearly caught with a super backdrop.

Wayne would send Swerve to the mat with a reverse hurricanrana before Waynes World – but Swerve got the foot on the bottom rope. Super Powerbomb and House Call Kick would follow from Swerve, before Swerve hit a nasty armbreaker before the JML Driver for the victory.

The Golden Elite Returns For Blood & Guts – Kota Ibushi Finally Joins AEW

It’s time for the issues between The Elite & Blackpool Combat Club to reach a new level – as they enter Blood & Guts next week.

However, both men have an issue – only having four men. Blackpool Combat Club is missing Bryan Danielson, who injured his arm battling Kazuchika Okada, so even with Konosuke Takeshita – only have four men. Meanwhile, The Elite are one man short with Eddie Kingston in Japan for the G1 Climax, and need a fifth man as a result.

Don Callis was chosen to announce the fifth man for the BCC – and is excited to announce a man that will help destroy The Elite.

There is no one more deserving of the abuse that comes in Blood & Guts than Kenny Omega, who would hit the ring to confront Callis. Moxley & Takeshita would protect Callis, before PAC made his AEW return – hitting Omega in the neck with a steel chair.

PAC would be the fifth man, and a new member of the Don Callis family. He has waited to get a shot at Omega, who shattered his nose.

Omega would be set up with a chair for the Black Arrow. They’d be told to watch the screen, and they’d find out who the fifth man is, and it’s Kota Ibushi. They’re not just Elite, they’re The Golden Elite now.
