Last night, Shane McMahon shocked fans by entering the Royal Rumble. He’d enter at #28 – and was able to throw Kevin Owens out of the ring before himself being eliminated by Brock Lesnar. This was the first time fans have seen McMahon since he lost to Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage match at WWE WrestleMania 37 – and now there is interest in what could be next for the son of Shane McMahon.
Shane McMahon Could Resent Austin Theory For Having The Favour Of His Father
Right now on Monday Night RAW, Austin Theory has been climbing the ranks very quickly – and is the favourite of Vince McMahon. This came after Theory had the guts to steal Vince’s golden egg, a move that impressed Vince. With Theory set to become a major star in WWE, having all the skills and the marketable look that Vince McMahon loves to see – we can expect him to have a big spot at Wrestlemania 38.
There is potential for a storyline to be told between Shane & Theory, as Theory is being treated almost like the son of Vince. All this while Shane was presumably on the shelf after being thrown from the top of a steel cage by Braun Strowman. WWE has made storylines out of less, and Shane McMahon would be able to make Theory look like a star at Wrestlemania.
Working with Shane McMahon could also help to boost the mic skills of Theory, as an angle like this would require quite a few promos. There is equal chance Shane McMahon vanishes again after his showing in the Royal Rumble, which reeked of WWE being desperate to give a surprise to the fans in attendance. However, with WWE being stretched thin with their roster after the amount of releases in 2021, and two nights of Wrestlemania on the horizon – all hands will be needed on deck.
