The TNT Championship reign of Darby Allin has been considered by many to be the best in the belt’s short history, and now he’s got a chance to continue his legacy as TNT Champion. He’s set his sights on Sammy Guevara, who recently became the Undisputed TNT Champion by defeating Cody Rhodes in a Ladder Match. Guevara & Allin are no strangers to each other, and are perhaps the two names on the AEW roster who are most likely to take risks in matches. They bring out each other’s daredevil nature, and tonight’s match would likely show this once again.

Allin & Guevara Turn It Right Up To 11

Both men were ready for what should be another classic encounter – but the crowd was behind Darby Allin as this one got started. A handshake showed the respect these two had for each other, before they’d lock up hard twice – leading to a stalemate. Allin would finally grab a headlock, before taking Guevara into a hammerlock. Flying mare would set up the crucifix, as Allin was showing his technical skills.

Guevara would try to set up the corkscrew dropkick, but was met by the shotgun dropkick instead. Allin went up top, and Guevara met him – before dropping him right across the top rope, and watching as Allin bounced to the floor. Guevara hung Allin up on the ropes and hit a Swanton Bomb to his back.

Allin would be choked in the ropes to follow this, before a knife edge chop and a clubbing blow to the back of the head. Guevara looked for the moonsault press, but Allin dodged – forcing Guevara to land awkwardly on his knee. Allin would take advantage with some Coffin Slashes in the corner before a chopblock.

Allin would follow up with a standing Coffin Drop to the knee, before a kneebreaker. He had a target, and would focus on it to take away the speed of Guevara. Guevara would find his legs tied up in the ropes with a Single Leg Crab, before reaching up and managing a Spanish Fly for a near fall. Landing on his knee slowed the cover just enough for Allin to survive.

Andrade Crashes The Match, Sammy Guevara Will Take Any Win

Allin would quickly apply the Figure Four Leg Lock, a move that his mentor Sting knows all about from his clashes with Ric Flar. Guevara would sit up in the hold and traded open hand shots with Allin to fight free. A rushing knee in the corner would miss, but Allin would only manage a two count with the Last Supper.

Stunner would land, but Guevara rolled to the outside. Allin went for the sucide dive, and Guevara caught him with a cutter out of nowhere. Guevara prepped Allin on the apron before diving, and crashing without Allin to break the fall.

Allin pushed Guevara back into the ring, and he’d set up the Coffin Drop. Jose would show up to distract Allin, but Sting took him out. Andrade himself showed up and nailed Allin with the tablet, leaving Allin out. Guevara found Allin in perfect position to set up the GTH, and he’d be a fool to not take the win that was handed to him.

After the match, Matt Hardy would attack Darby Allin only to be driven off by Sammy Guevara and Sting. Andrade would steal the gold, and made his intentions crystal clear.
