Last night, Team Six Or Nine achieved the dream of Ryusuke Taguchi. He wanted to be both the 69th IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, and 69th Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, and that came true. However, now the work begins – as he and Master Wato take on the Suzuki-Gun duo of El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru in a non-title match.

Team Six Or Nine Manage The Win – Ryusuke Taguchi Suffers Potential Knee Injury

Wato would start alongside Desperado, nailing some fast arm drags. Taguchi tagged in and they hit tag team kicks. Kanemaru would drive Wato into the rear of Taguchi in the corner, with Taguchi not knowing the difference until he turned around and saw both opponents. Taguchi would start to work on breaking the leg of Kanemaru down for the Figure Four Leg Lock.

Desperado would also benefit from Taguchi’s leg being hurt with the Numero Dos, but when he tagged in he’d take a jumping hip attack. Wato tagged in and met Desperado in the middle of the ring – but got slammed down with a backdrop which was quickly followed by a spinebuster.

Suzuki-Gun would go for the double team assault, but Wato was able to land the leg lariat to save himself. Taguchi tagged in and hit a double hip attack, before the double B-Trigger. The knee was bothering him, but those hips don’t lie. A springboard hip attack would get the two count, before looking for the Boma Ye hip attack before taking a basement dropkick.

Figure Four Leg Lock was applied by Kanemaru, and Taguchi would be alone as Wato was taken out on the outside. He’d get the ropes before taking the British Fall, but Taguchi got the inside cradle to get the three count before that knee gave out on him. A win is a win, but Taguchi will be glad that this tour is over to let it heal.

Great-O-Khan Goes Undefeated On Entire Golden Series Tour

Earlier in the Golden Series tour, Satoshi Kojima was dominated by Great-O-Khan. Had the Great-O-Khan not picked him up after one particularly nasty forearm shot, he’d have beaten him in under five minutes. Considering Kojima is a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, this was humiliation – and tonight, he is ready for some payback as he gets a chance to take Great-O-Khan down.

Great-O-Khan would take Kojima right to the mat with the armbar, and Kojima would be in serious trouble. He’d hold strong and get his foot on the bottom rope, but Great-O-Khan might have taken away the lariat before Kojima could even throw it. Kojima went outside, and Great-O-Khan smacked his arm with a steel chair, doing even more damage to the lariat arm.

Sheep Killer would be applied, before Great-O-Khan hit the Tenzan Tombstone Driver, but Kojima kicked out of his longtime partner’s finisher. Kojima threw a lariat to the ribs to send Great-O-Khan to the outside, and back in the ring would follow up with the Machine Gun Chops – and set up that Diving Elbow Drop.

Great-O-Khan was suffering some rib damage, but was still kicking out. Both of these men were not doing great here after such a hard hitting match – but Koji Cutter wouldn’t end things. A brainbuster landed, but Great-O-Khan grabbed that Claw Hold, and would spin Kojima Out. Great-O-Khan howled like a wounded animal, and Eliminator got the win.

Will anyone be able to stop Great-O-Khan during the New Japan Cup? Could this rib injury slow him down? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
