Aaron Rodgers has apologised to his ex Shailene Woodley after she had become embroiled in his Covid-19 vaccine saga.

The NFL star had been accused of lying to the media when he told them he was ‘immunised’ against Covid. In reality, Aaron had taken alternatives to the vaccine, which then brought Shailene into the equation by virtue of her association with him.
But looking back, Aaron has regret over how things played out. In an interview on the The Pat McAfee Show, he said: “One thing that I am sad about and definitely apologetic is I didn’t realize in the midst of the COVID conversations how much my situation was affecting my loved ones and my people.”
It is not clear whether this had influenced Aaron and Shailene’s split, but one thing for sure is that they did differ on political matters.
And given that the Covid-19 vaccine is a topical issue, whether we like it or not, there is a suggestion that this could have damaged their relationship. While the duo are still on good terms, even Aaron did not foresee that the vaccination scandal would go that far.
He added: “Understanding kind of the entire gravity of the situation I was thrust into and decided to speak on multiple times had an effect on a lot of people. To those people, I just say, ‘I’m sorry.”
The fans on social media were not receptive to what Aaron had to say. They were of the view that he had brought this on himself. And by apologising now, it had done nothing to stop the damage that had already been done.
It was simply a case of too little, too late. One person wrote: “He’s such an idiot. Too many public figures deciding to spew their non-scientific knowledge to people who misguidedly look to them for insight.
“He and the rest need to use their platform to point people to the right set of experts and not spew their incorrect understanding!”
