When Bobby Lashley was removed from the Elimination Match before even hitting the ring – fans knew something was going wrong. While WWE played things off as a possible concussion caused from his chamber pod imploding on him following a powerbomb from Seth Rollins? The actual injury was a shoulder injury. This came during his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble – but Lashley is pushing to be back way sooner than anyone expected.
Bobby Lashley Wants To Get Right Back Into The Ring
Right now, the recovery time for this injury is set to four months – if Lashley goes under the knife and gets surgery. However, Ringside News has reported that Lashley is trying to get cleared in time for the upcoming show at Madison Square Garden. He’s still an option for a one on one title shot against Brock Lesnar – even with this show being set for Saturday, March 5th.
Right now, Lashley has undergone medical testing for his shoulder with WWE doctors in Birmingham, Alabama. Provided his shoulder is fine, there is little reason for WWE to not clear Lashley, especially after having established him as a main event star over the past few years.
WWE Are Unlikely To Do A Title Change At Madison Square Garden
With WWE branding Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania as a title Unification match – a title change at Madison Square Garden is unlikely. However, running a shock title change would once again reinforce that anything that can happen in a WWE ring, and potentially help to boost house show attendance once again.
One planned name for this title match with Lesnar, provided Lashley is not cleared – is Cody Rhodes. His exit from AEW has been followed by a flood of rumours of his return to WWE. Returning in such a major role would not only be a huge surprise for fans – but also a sign of how he will be treated during this return run.
