Jason Momoa Denies Rumours That He Is Dating Kate Beckinsale-‘I Was Being Very Nice’
The speculation arrived on the back end of the pair being pictured at an Oscars party where they were seen being friendly with each other. In the picture here, we can see that both of them are standing next to each other.
Kate has a beer in her hand, while Jason looks on with a smile on his face. He has his arm around her, as she is covered by his coat. And that is when fans speculated that the two could be together.
But in an interview with Extra, Jason downplayed those suggestions. He said: “Everyone is like, ‘Are you dating?’ No, no, it was chivalry — the woman was cold.
“[We are] absolutely not, not together. She is very nice. I was being very nice, just being a gentleman. Now, I am not giving my coat to anyone.”
This is hardly a surprise given what has happened with Jason’s personal life of late. In January this year, he decided to split up from his wife Lisa Bonet.
The pair had been married for around five years during which they brought up two children together: Lola and Nakoa-Wolf. Naturally, the actor would not want to rush into things especially since he has not finalized a divorce.
Not only that, but there is always the chance that the pair could reconcile. Nevertheless, fans were not convinced by Jason’s comments.
A certain subset of people felt that there was definitely chemistry between the pair and Jason most likely denied anything on the basis that he wanted to take his time, as well as not hurting Lisa.
One fan wrote: “Looks like Lisa Bonnet got mad. Of course Jason Mamoa likes Kate. Who wouldn’t.” Time will tell whether the pair were just being friends, but for now, we will have to take Jason’s comments at face value.
